CHESTER – Patricia Smith-Niemiec, 50, passed away on July 21, 2019, at Baystate Medical Center following her short yet, courageous battle with leukemia. Patti was the daughter of Dorothy (Allard) Smith and the late George C. Smith both of Harwich, MA. A s a resident of Chester, MA she worked as a bookkeeper at Gateway Regional High School to support her children in their education. In her spare time, Patti loved to listen to Bon Jovi, watch Supernatural, celebrate with the Bruins and spend time with the family dog and cats; Riff, Willow, Beamer, and Dusty.
Patti is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Henry Niemiec, and their three children; the lights of her life, Harrison, 20, Elizabeth, 18, and Morgan, 15, will always remember her fondly as the wonderful and selfless woman she was. She was gifted with an infectious laugh and caring heart and she will be missed every day. She also leaves behind her mother, Dorothy Smith, sister, Katherine Hennessey, two brothers, John Smith, and Scott Smith, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of the Oncology Department at Baystate Medical Center. Private funeral services. No calling hours.
