HUNTINGTON: Patsy Ann Burke (nee O’Keefe), 1947-2015, 67, beloved wife of Wayne T. Burke, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2015 surrounded by loving family and friends after a long and courageous battle with emphysema. Born in Pittsfield, MA on October 4, 1947 daughter of the late Michael F. O’Keefe and Sylvia L. O’Keefe (nee Eldridge). Patsy is survived by her husband of 34 years Wayne; son Jason B. Burke (fiancée Jessica) of Meriden; daughters Theresa M. Fryer (husband Terry) of San Diego, Laurie A. Varelas (husband Dean) of Westfield and Kellie Burke of Florida. Her Grandchildren: Dean & Alex Varelas, Caitlin & Breanna Fryer, Tristan & Aidan Burke, Savannah Burke and Vendella Keier . Also brothers Michael O’Keefe, Barry O’Keefe (wife Debbie), Timothy O’Keefe (wife Maryanne), and sisters Beverly Ditello (husband Louis), Bonnie Silverio (fiancé Mark), and Kelley Mears (husband Rick), as well as several cherished nieces, nephews and many dear friends and especially loved one Stephanie Conway. Patsy was a dedicated supervisor at the Westfield Friendly’s Restaurant for over 25 years. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed the “occasional” trip to the casino with her best friend and sister Beverly. She was so proud of all her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play their sports. The Burke family would like to express deep appreciation for all of the wonderful care Patsy received. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. O’Brien Hilltown Funeral Home, Huntington, will be providing the arrangements. The family requests that those wishing may make a donation in Patsy’s name to the Huntington Volunteer Fire Department in lieu of flowers.
