Paul W. Manos

MARYLAND – Paul W. Manos, 87, of Laurel, died peacefully July 12, at his home. He was the loving husband of Nancy L. Manos for over 55 years. He was born in Ft. Myers, FL, the son of John P. Manos of Greece and Daisy Stewart of Scotland.

Paul was raised and attended school in Westfield, MA. After school he joined the United States Navy and then the United States Army, where he was a member of the 11th Airborne Division stationed in Japan. He worked for the United States Government and retired with over 30 years of service. Paul was a member of the Boy Scouts and a Scout leader. He was member of the BSA Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s Honor Society. He enjoyed traveling to Greece with his late brother John Manos.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, J.P. Manos and John Manos. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Manos; three sons, Carl Manos of Chicago IL, Gary Manos of Denton and John Manos of Port Charlotte, FL; two daughters, Dianna Martinez of St. Joseph, MO and Paula Woods of Wichita, KS; sister, Elena Manos Nordmeyer; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., August 11, 2012 at the Maryland City Baptist Church located at 326 Brock Bridge Road, Laurel.
