Peter John Liptak

WESTFIELD – Surrounded by faith and love, Peter John Liptak left us on February 19, 2026, for the next part of his journey. The youngest son of the late Alice Liptak and Adam Liptak Sr., Peter grew up in Westfield and graduated from Westfield High School in 1966, and then from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Psychology. He was a proud Westfield resident and lived in the Hampton Ponds area for over 50 years. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Roadway under the Teamsters Local 671 Union. He returned to school and graduated from Holyoke Community College with a degree in nursing, earning his RN, and dedicated himself to providing comfort and care to others as a visiting nurse while truck driving at the same time.

Traveling to China and Vietnam, Peter and Donna, his wife of 45 years, adopted four beautiful children and built their family. Peter was a special kind of man and a loving and devoted father. He dedicated himself to those amazing children and did all he could to give them a wonderful life in Westfield.
Peter was a free spirit and true friend to everyone who crossed his path. He was a die-hard rock and roller, the consummate Little Feat and Rolling Stones fan. He was also an adrenaline seeker who didn’t hesitate to skydive, take his motorcycle out for another wild ride, or head out for some other adventure – often with his childhood friends, Peter Sawtelle, Louis Saltus, and late Dan Kotowski by his side and he was a longtime friend of Bill W.

Peter is predeceased by his parents Adam Liptak Sr. and Alice Liptak, and his brother Adam Liptak. He is survived by his wife Donna Lee (Dumont) Liptak, his four children, Joan Liptak, Ann Liptak, Sara Stratton and her husband Pete Stratton, James Liptak, grandson Theodore Stratton, and English Springer Spaniel Brownie and Miniature Poodle Dottie. Peter leaves his sister Jeanne Halloran, brother James Liptak, and a larger extended family. He was an uncle like no other to Greg Liptak and to his many nieces and nephews. He was much loved and will be deeply missed.
