WESTFIELD – Phyllis J. (Monczka) Osowski of Westfield died Thursday, August 29, 2013 in Westfield. She was born in Southwick on June 15, 1927 daughter of the late Jacob and Alexandria (Gelgut) Monczka and lived in Westfield for most of her life.Phyllis worked in the Westfield School Lunch Program for many years. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing and gardening.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Osowski Sr. who died in 1986 and her son, Michael who died in 2012. Phyllis leaves her son, Edward Osowski Jr. and his wife Janet of Westfield; her grandchildren, Alexandria Vassallo and her husband James, Edward Osowski III and his wife Kim and Jessica McBride and her husband Bryan; great-grandchildren, Brianna Mae Melo, Abagail, Isabelle and Matthew Vassallo, Annalyse and Ciera McBride, and Steven Osowski.
The funeral will be Tuesday, September 3rd at 10:30 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s National Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A Calling hour will precede the service on Tuesday, September 3rd at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
