Pittsfield doubles up Manchester, 6-3

WESTFIELD – The Pittsfield Babe Ruth 13-Year-Old All Stars continue to be a thorn in the side of the Whip City.
Pittsfield, which beat Westfield in the state championship, kept their regional title hopes intact with a 6-3 win in a loser’s bracket semifinal last night at Bullens Field.
Pittsfield broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the fifth inning to eliminate Manchester (NH). The 2012 state champs advance to take on New Milford in a must-win game tonight at Bullens Field at 6.
The winner will play 3-0 Westfield tomorrow in a special afternoon title tilt at Bullens Field at 3 p.m. If Westfield loses, a second and final game will be played 20 minutes later.
