12:34 a.m.: liquor law violation, Mechanic Street, an officer reports observing a pedestrian drinking from a can of beer while walking in the area, a city ordination violation citation was issued;
12:39 a.m.: disturbance, officers responding to an excessive college-aged gathering report that the host was uncooperative with their efforts to disperse about 100 youths and began to yell at his guests exhorting them to resist police efforts to restore the peace, the man refused to calm and continued to add to the disturbance until he was taken into custody, Graham W. Kilanowich, 22, of 38 Mechanic Street, was arrested for disorderly conduct, the gathering was dispersed;
1:19 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating without a valid inspection sticker and stopped the car, the operator was found to be unlicensed and he surrendered a small amount of marijuana, Ricky Santiago, 26, of 10 Franklin St., was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker, a city ordination violation citation was issued;
8:20 p.m.: assault, Chapman Playground, St. Paul Street, a Southwick resident came to the station to complain that his 16-year-old daughter was assaulted in the playground, the responding officer reports that he was told that the girl had been seated at the playground with a friend when another girl attempted to instigate a confrontation, the officer was told that when the victim did not respond to the provocation the suspect assaulted her, the officer reports that part of the incident was captured on video and it shows the victim attempting to protect herself until she eventually punched the suspect, the officer reports the victim’s action was clearly defensive and said that the girl apparently threw only one punch which ended the assault, the suspect was identified but the officer was not able to immediately contact her, a criminal complaint was filed, the victim was transported to Noble Hospital where she was treated and released ;
11:25 p.m.: disturbance, Chapel Street, an officer responding to an excessive college-aged party reports that the tenant was sober and cooperative, the officer reports the host asked him to help disperse the crowd and the officer reports about 100 persons left the residence.
