12:05 a.m.: liquor law violation, Clark Street, patrol officers report they observed two persons consuming alcohol on Clark Street, an officer reports that both were found to be of legal drinking age and city ordinance violation citations for consuming alcohol in public were filed;
12:14 a.m.: noise complaint, Woronoco Avenue, a caller reports a loud college aged party, the responding officer reports that one party was found to be intoxicated and declined to control himself, the young man was placed in protective custody;
12:50 a.m.: suspicious vehicle, Little River Road, an off duty officer reports an occupied vehicle has been parked at a closed convenience store for an extended period, the responding officer reports the occupant was found to be in possession of marijuana and a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
4:09 a.m.: disturbance, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports her husband is intoxicated and strangled her roommate, the responding officer reports that he did not discover probable cause to believe that a crime occurred;
8:00 a.m.: animal complaint, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union Street, the director of animal control operations reports he took custody of a stray Chihuahua dog found at the apartment complex office;
10:12 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
10:36 a.m.: animal complaint, Maple Street, a caller from the district court reports a Maple Street resident walking her dog is not cleaning up after it, the responding animal control officer reports a written warning was issued;
10:58 a.m.: disturbance, Elm Street, a caller from an Elm Street convenience store reports a fight in the parking lot, the responding officer reports he found two male parties who had been engaged in a pushing match but neither party wished to pursue the issue;
11:33 a.m.: identity fraud, Old Feeding Hills Road, a resident reports via the online reporting form that an unsuccessful attempt was made to use her identity;
12:34 p.m: accident, Montgomery Street, a caller reports a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, the responding officer reports he found that an 85-year-old man who had been walking near the roadway was stuck by a vehicle backing out of a driveway, the man was transported to Noble Hospital where he was treated and released;
12:47 p.m.: suspicious persons, Deborah Lane, a caller reports about four youths appear to be shooting at each other with BB guns, the caller said that she is troubled by the activity in light of the violence in Boston, the responding officer reports that a mother was supervising a group of teen aged youths playing in her yard with airsoft guns, the officer reports the that the woman and the boys were cooperative and empathetic and agreed to cease their play to avoid upsetting the neighbor;
1:40 p.m.: assist citizen, Powdermill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports that a resident has inadvertently locked a child inside a vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
2:30 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
3:20 p.m.: investigation, Union Street, a detective reports he discovered a known person to be in possession of a jewelry item which may have been stolen, the detective reports the man surrendered the item until its provenance can be established;
4:33 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
8:26 p.m.: found property, Main Street, a resident delivered wallet reportedly found on Main Street, the desk officer reports he was unable to immediately contact the owner and the items was stored for safekeeping;
8:31 p.m.: incapacitated person, Main Street, a caller reports a family member is intoxicated and causing a disturbance, the responding officer reports the woman was deemed to be too intoxicated to care for herself and nobody could be found to care for her, the woman was placed in protective custody;
8:47 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports he immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana and the operator was found to be in possession of marijuana, a city ordinance violation citation was filed;
10:04 p.m.: fire, Morgan Avenue, a caller reports a large backyard bonfire, the responding firefighters report that a resident had a small fire confined in a fire pit, the resident was cooperative and extinguished the fire
10:21 p.m.: larceny, Southampton Road, a caller from a Southampton Road business reports a new employee has not returned a company truck, the responding officer reports the caller does not wish to report a stolen vehicle immediately;
10:44 p.m.: liquor law violations, Holland Avenue, a patrol officer reports liquor law violations, two city ordinance violation citations were filed;
11:08 p.m.: liquor law violations, Arnold Street at Summer Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation, two city ordinance violation citations were filed;
11:57 p.m.: larceny, Dickens Drive, a resident came to the station to report her vehicle was stolen, the responding officer reports the father of her child took her SUV without authority, the officer reports he found that the vehicle had been abandoned in West Springfield, the woman was provided a courtesy transport to her vehicle.
