2:41 p.m.: disturbance, Westfield Middle School South playing fields, West Silver Street, a caller reports a large disturbance, the responding school resource officer reports two pupils were fighting, the SRO reports school authorities and the parents of both children were notified;
5:26 p.m.: fire, Stanley Park, 400 Western Ave., a caller report a brush fire in the rear of Stanley Park, the responding firefighters report burning leaves covering an area about 40 feet by 20 feet were extinguished;
6:20 p.m.: violation of a protective order, King Avenue, a resident came to the station to complain that the defendant of a protective order violated it, the responding officer reports the complainant said that the incarcerated defendant arranged for a third party to contact her on his behalf in violation of the ‘No contact’ clause of the order, a criminal complaint was filed;
6:59 p.m.: disturbance, Morris Avenue, State Police transferred a 911 call in which yelling could be heard, the responding officer reports he found that a physical altercation had concluded but found that the participants were either unable or unwilling to explain why they had been fighting;
7:35 p.m.: fire, Springfield Road, a caller reports a rather large bonfire near the river, the responding firefighters report they found two fishermen who had a campfire which they extinguished immediately upon learning of the complaint;
7:49 p.m.: disturbance, Morris Avenue, a caller requests assistance leaving a house because people outside are threatening to hurt her, the responding officers report they observed a group of persons outside the residence and one objected when an officer went inside the speak with suspect, t he man claimed that police had no right to enter his home, an officer spoke with the victim who said an identified person slapped her face but the suspect denied the allegation, the man outside continued to protest the officers’ action, agitated the onlookers and did not heed the officers’ instructions, the man objected further when officers escorted the caller from he house, Anthony V. Borhanian, 21, of 6 Morris Ave., was arrested for disorderly conduct and interfering with police;
8:13 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:33 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Holland Avenue, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;

11:32 a.m.: fraud, Rogers Avenue, a caller reports she was victimized by a paving contractor, see story in the Thursday edition of The Westfield News;
1:35 p.m.: officer wanted, Powdermill Village, 126 Union St., a caller requests an officer in regard to a financial issue with a neighbor and said that she believes one of the involved parties is the subject of an outstanding warrant, the responding officer reports that warrants were found for two parties, Coery K. Huard, 33, of 126 Union St., was arrested on a 2012 warrant and Natasha A. Jeffery, 31, of 126 Union St., was arrested on a 2013 warrant;
5:12 p.m.: larceny, Taylor Avenue, a caller reports that she had been “partying” and using controlled substances with a few guys and when she left the room her cigarettes were stolen from her purse, the responding officer reports that he was able to recover the woman’s cigarettes and she complied when the homeowner expressed a desire that she leave;
6:35 p.m.: assist citizen, Elm Street, a caller requests that police assist her to recover a television loaned to a person who refuses to return it, that caller said she has a receipt for the television, the responding officer reports the person in control of the television refused to surrender it and the caller was advised of her civil options;
9:12 p.m.: disturbance, a caller reports his daughter and her boyfriend are engaged in a physical altercation, the responding officer reports he spoke with both parties and the male party acknowledged that the had pushed the female party, Joshua A. Harrica, 31, of 150 Miller St., was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship.
