12:43 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, officer had vehicle stopped and then it took off down Union Street, vehicle and officer travelled down Union Street at 60 miles per hour, vehicle (2008 Hyundai) crashed into a house, rolled over and trapped driver (Rakeem E. Nelson, 21, of Springfield), who was extricated successfully and transported to Baystate Medical Center where he later died; See related article in The Westfield News on Wednesday April 27.
11:43 a.m.: larceny, Lindbergh Boulevard, party reported someone made charges to his credit card;
2:06 p.m.: assist motorist/citizen, Gold Street, resident wanted to trespass two juveniles who are regularly on his property and breaking into his shed;
3:15 p.m.: accident, 167 Springfield Road at 51 E. Mountain Road, 2005 Mercury (towed) and 2005 Chrysler, no injuries;
3:27 p.m.: accident, 422 N. Elm St., minor property damage;
4:04 p.m.: attempted larceny, Whip City Auto Wash, 344 E. Main St., investigated;
4:14 p.m.: accident, 225 E. Main St., 2014 Toyota Scion and 2007 Dodge Dakota, no injuries;
4:33 p.m.: vandalism, Bush Street, party wanted to file charges of destruction of property against a known suspect;
7:56 p.m.: accident, 115 Elm St., minor property damage;
8:19 p.m.: accident, hit & run, Lozier Avenue, minor property damage;
10:46 p.m.: accident, 53 Medeiros Way minor property damage.
