WESTFIELD

Major crime and incident report

Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016

6:44 a.m.: Vandalism to a motor vehicle, White Street. Police received a report of a vehicle whose mirror was broken and that there was a footprint on the door. However, according to police there was no mechanism to the broken mirror. Police believed that this may have been linked to a prior vandalism, but no additional information was available at the time of the report.

2:12 p.m.: Assist another agency–environmental police, Hampton Ponds State Park. Police reported that they assisted the environmental police with some people who have caused a disturbance at the park. Police were unable to report what happened at the incident because environmental police filed the report but Jose E. Figueroa, 60, of Springfield, was eventually arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct.

2:22 p.m.: Motor vehicle accident, Elm Street. There was a three-car accident involving a 2007 Toyota Tacoma, 2000 Toyota Camry and 2003 Subaru Forester on Elm Street. The accident was minor and all three vehicles were able to drive out of the roadway. No injuries or arrests were reported.

3:20 p.m.: Medical emergency, Elm Street. Police received a report that there were two parties performing CPR outside of a business on Elm Street. After police and fire department paramedics arrived however, it was found that the patient was not having CPR done but was rather being awoken by his friends. The patient was reportedly heavily intoxicated and transported to Baystate Noble by Westfield Fire paramedics.
