1:10 p.m.: Breaking and entering, Russell Road. Police received a report of a vehicle on this road had its doors wide open and that everything was gone through. Police did not receive a report regarding if items were missing from the car.

2:15 p.m.: Larceny, Wal-Mart, Springfield Road. Police received a report from a woman who said that her pocket book was stolen from her shopping cart while she was in the parking lot. She reported that she was canceling her cards, but that one transaction had already happened on one of her cards.

2:23 p.m.: Fraud, walk-in. Police received a report that a woman had approximately $860 in fraudulent charges on one of her credit cards.

3:42 p.m.: Assault and arrest, Pinehurst Street. Police received a report that a road rage incident escalated after one of the parties allegedly followed the other to their address. While there, one party was said to have damaged a vehicle with a golf club and the party whose car was damaged allegedly pulled a gun on the golf club wielding party. Police arrested John M. Ferrer-Hernandez, 28, of Westfield, and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon–gun. See related story in the Aug. 9th Westfield News.

5:44 p.m.: Vandalism, walk-in. Police received a report of a vehicle whose tires had been vandalized with staples and screws. The party alleged that they knew who did this, but police made no arrests.

6:56 p.m.: Suspicious incident, Shepard Street. Police received a report of two individuals, a male and a female, who were both intoxicated and had a 9-month-old child with them. Police investigated and found that one of the parties was intoxicated but the other was not. Police sent the group home and made no arrests.
