12:10 a.m.: found property, South Broad Street, a caller reports he believes he left his hockey bag in a parking lot, the responding officer reports that the bag was found and transported to the station for safe keeping;
12:25 a.m.: disturbance, Parker Avenue, a state police dispatcher reports that the phone was ripped from the hand of a caller reporting a domestic disturbance, the responding officer reports that a visibly upset woman said that her husband had beaten her and left the area, the officer observed signs of injury but a search of the area did not yield a suspect, the officer reports a warrant application for assault and battery in a domestic relationship and intimidating a witness was filed;
1:35 a.m.: vandalism, Granville Road at Spruce Street, a caller reports that he observed four youths take a neighbor’s flag, the responding officer reports the caller said that he saw four persons on his neighbor’s property who fled when he approached, the officer reports another resident approached and said that a variety of lawn ornaments and flower pots was found on his property, two residents of the neighborhood claimed the property found, a search of the area did not yield any suspects;
9:42 a.m.: animal complaint, Union Street, a caller reports a skunk is trapped in a well, the director of animal control operations reports the skunk was rescued and sent on its way;
10:52 a.m.: vandalism, Summer Street, a resident came to the station to complain of damage to her car, the responding officer reports the woman said that she parked her car about noon and about 9 a.m. the next day discovered that her front door would not open completely, the officer reports he found that the front quarter panel had been damaged, apparently intentionally;
11:16 a.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a caller from an East Main Street store requests an officer to assist as a loss prevention officer interviews an employee about missing money, the responding officer reports the store employee explained that the company had discovered six apparently fraudulent returns, the officer reports an employee eventually admitted that in four of the cases he had falsified a return and pocketed the money which was ostensibly refunded but the merchandise was not returned, the officer reports that charges will be held in abeyance until the store’s internal investigation is complete;
12:41 p.m.: larceny, Chapman Playground, St. Paul Street, a resident came to the station to complain that her bag was stolen from the playground the night before, the responding officer reports the complainant said that about 8 p.m. she had been at the park when a medical issue developed and when her husband took her home her backpack which contained her medications was left behind, the woman said that when her husband returned to search of the bag some five hours later it was not found;
1:36 p.m.: assist citizen, Main Street, a caller reports keys are locked inside a running vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
1:53 p.m.: arrest, Bates Road, a detective reports that his investigation into a case in which a resident withdrew the proceeds of a check which was ultimately found to be fraudulent found probable cause to believe that the woman knew it to be fraudulent when she claimed the funds, Jennifer L. Chase, 30, of 18 E. Silver St., was arrested for uttering a false check and for larceny by check of property valued more than $250;
4:57 p.m.: fraud, Hanover Street, a resident came to the station to complain that funds have been withdrawn for her bank account without authorization, the responding officer reports that the woman said that she believes the withdrawals were made by a former boyfriend whom she had previously allowed to have access to her account, the officer reports the woman was advised of her options for a civil remedy;
5:38 p.m.: violation of an abuse prevention order, West Silver Street, a caller reports his estranged wife has violated a protective order by sending him numerous text messages and phone calls, the responding officer reports that the suspect came to the station to speak with the officer, Missy C. Stoddard, 32, of 16 Washington St., was arrested for violation of an abuse prevention order;
7:12 p.m.: assault, South Broad Street, a caller from Noble Hospital reports that a patient claims that his injuries resulted from an assault at the skateboard park, the responding officer reports that the man’s injuries were inconsistent with his report of the incident.
