Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012
12:22 p.m.: well being check, Forest Glen Drive, caller reports speaking with a friend, who is in the process of evicting a family member from the residence, the friend said she could not talk and the caller is concerned about her well-being, officer reports that the friend was brought to the station and is speaking with the domestic violence coordinator about her civil rights and options, services rendered;
4:07 p.m.: motor vehicle accident, West Silver Street in front of post office, officer reports no injuries, two vehicles, a 2000 Toyota SE Camry and a 2005 Toyota Highlander, were towed from the scene;
5:49 p.m.: larceny of a bicycle, Big Y supermarket, patron reports leaving her bicycle outside the store while shopping for 20 minutes, upon her return the bicycle was missing;
6:24 p.m.: fire, smoke, Little River Road, caller reports dark smoke and a strange odor coming from the rear of a house, officer and firefighters dispatched, officer cancelled fire response and reports a flash fire on an outdoor grill burnt the resident’s dinner;
11:56 p.m.: well-being check, 7 Free St., caller reports intoxicated subject was refused entry into Samaritan Inn because of violati0on of residence rules and is concern well being, officer reports 43-year-male placed into protective custody.

12:26 a.m.: trespassing Meadow Street, caller reports her ex-boyfriend is in her apartment without permission after be8ing inf0rmed that the lights were on in her apartment, caller plans to stay the night out of town to avoid a confrontation with the male subject, officers report locating the male subject at the apartment, male stated that he receives his mail at that location and has been a resident, on and off, for more than two years, male agreed to leave for the night, reporting party was advised to seek a housing court decree to evict the male who is technically a resident and a 209-A protective order if there is a threat of domestic violence;
2:53 a.m.: suspicious activity, Elm Street, Mobil station clerk reports subject may be attempting to use a stolen debit card, officer reports male subject fled the scene on foot, heading toward Chapel Street and possibly onto the railroad tracks, male was located and identified, male stated that a friend gave him the card to purchase cigarettes, officer spoke with the debit card owner who confirmed the story, male was advised not to use another person’s debit card in the future to avoid a misunderstanding;
7:13 a.m.: larceny, 100 Servistar Way, caller reports the theft of scrap metal, including copper and aluminum, caller contracted a scrap yard where he does business and the yard operator identified the vehicle which the caller located and requested an officer, officer reports stolen property was located in the bed of a pick-up truck and three suspects identified, property returned to reporting party and the case referred to the detective bureau for further investigation, charges pending;
8:12 a.m.: well-being check, Meadow Street, caller reports elderly female who appears very confused, officer reports female was identified and her nephew requested to respond, officer transported the woman home and waited until her nephew arrived to watch over the woman;
10:16 a.m.: identity fraud, Old Feeding Hills Road, resident reported to the WPD online site that a credit card was used to make internet purchases of $639 and then receiving a check for $2,200 made out to a New York resident, referred to the detective bureau;
11:49 a.m.: motor vehicle accident with personnel injury, intersection of Court and Pleasant Streets, multiples callers report a pedestrian was struck by a 2003 Nissan, officer and fire paramedics dispatched, pedestrian transported to Noble Hospital, treated and later released;
1:45 p.m.: motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Springfield Street and East Mountain Road, multiple callers report a two vehicle collision with injuries, officer and firefighters dispatched, transport to the Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, both vehicles towed;
3:44 p.m.: larceny, Lapoint Road, citizen came to station to report theft of copper pipe, valued at $4,500, from his truck, which was loaned to a relative, officer reports speaking with the relative who states that there was no copper in the truck when he took custody, incident remains under investigation;
6:58 p.m.: suspicious activity, Frederick Street, third-floor resident reports observing the door of the second-floor apartment open and reports that the residents of that apartment are on vacation, officers dispatched, apartment searched and found nothing amiss, officers spoke with the first-floor resident who started that a friend of the vacationing residents was coming to feed their cat and may not have closed the door, which was locked, sufficiently to trip the locking mechanism, door secured.

7:03 a.m.: vandalism, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, Cloot’s Auto Body, 825 North Road, caller reports rock thrown through window of patron’s vehicle, glove compartment searched, nothing appears to be missing.
