Friday, Aug. 21, 2015
1:13 a.m.:
motor vehicle violation, arrest, Main Street, patrol officer monitoring traffic with radar reports a vehicle traveling at 74 miles an hour in a 35-mile-an-hour zone, officer began to follow the vehicle, a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta, which continued to accelerate to 86 miles an hour, motorist turned onto Meadow Street, crossing over the double-yellow lane lines and was apprehended on Casimir Street, Teressa A. Libian, 24, of 25 Ward St., Chicopee charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding in violation of special regulations and with a marked lane violation, vehicle towed;
10:55 a.m.: vandalism, Half Mile Falls Park, Depot Square, city contractor employee reports a fountain head damaged;
12:53 p.m.: motor vehicle collision with personal accident, Union Street at the intersection of Paper Mill Road, officer reports eastbound motorist stopped in traffic on Union Street waiting for westbound traffic to clear to make a left turn onto paper Mill Road when her vehicle was struck on the rear by another eastbound vehicle, stopped motorist transported to Noble Hospital, both vehicles towed;
4:08 p.m.; area check, Railroad Avenue, officer reports four men swimming in the Westfield River, youths advised of dangers of swimming in the river and left the area;
10:46 p.m.: medical emergency, 137 Russellville Road, officer reports a man fell off a motor vehicle and struck his head against another vehicle, ambulance transport to the Baystate Medical Center, Springfield;
10:56 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, arrest, Greenwood Street, patrol officer observed a motor vehicle, a white Honda Accord, whose owner is known to the officer to have a suspended license, exiting a gas station on North Elm Street, officer stopped the vehicle and placed the owner under arrest, Hector E. Sanchez, 25, of 310 Chapin St., Ludlow charged with operating a motor vehicle after suspension of license, tenth subsequent violation, possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage and operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker.

12:07 p.m.: fraud, Arnold Street, citizen came to station to report that his bank account was accessed and $500 withdrawn without his authority, referred to the detective bureau;
12:46 p.m.: property found, Jefferson Street, caller reports finding three bicycles on his property, officer reports items tagged and transported to property room at headquarters;
4:15 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, private parking lot off Springfield Road, patrol officer reports issuing a citation to a motorist for operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker and failing to display two registration plates;
4:39 p.m.: well-being check, 16 Washington St., resident requesting officer to check the well-being of another resident, reporting party had helped the other resident to his apartment and reports that he was having difficulty breathing and seemed off balance, officer reports speaking with the resident and requesting the Fire Department to dispatch medical personnel to assess the man’s condition, transport to Noble Hospital for treatment;
5:42 p.m.: arrest, North Elm Street at intersection of Notre Dame Street, patrol officer observed a person operating a motorized bicycle without protective head gear, officer stopped the bicycle and identified him as the subject of an outstanding warrant, Patrick D. Graves
