12:01 a.m.: trespassing, Half Mile Park, North Elm Street, a dispatcher reports persons were seen in the park by the cameras monitoring the park, the responding officer reports eight teen aged youths were found in the park, the youths were cooperative and agreed to leave after they were advised of the park hours, no damage or vandalism was observed;
10:01 a.m.: found property, Mechanic Street, a caller reports finding a child’s scooter tucked away in a corner, the responding officer transported the scooter to the station for safe keeping;
11:30 a.m.: recovered property, Rhode Island, a Rhode Island state trooper reports the recovery of a vehicle reported to have been stolen in the city in 2009, the owner was notified;
12:27 p.m.: vandalism, Frederick Street, a resident came to the station to report that ketchup was smeared on her vehicle, the complainant said that although this is not the first time her vehicle has been targeted she does not require a formal report, she would appreciate, however, additional patrols in the area;
1:38 p.m.: accident, Feeding Hills Road at Old Feeding Hills Road, a detail officer reports a construction vehicle struck and damaged a utility pole, the responding officer reports a dump truck in a work zone struck and cracked a utility pole which will have to be replaced, the G&E was notified;
2:04 p.m.: found property, East Main Street, a person came to the station to surrender a wallet found on the ground at an East Main Street gas station;
3:03 p.m.: city ordinance violations, Day Avenue, the code enforcement officer reports he and the health inspector visiting a Day Avenue address to check on health and sanitary code violations, the officer reports that a deteriorating pool, yard structure and debris are apparent violations which will be addressed by the health inspector who documented the infractions and will issue violation citations;
4:07 p.m.: larceny, Governor’s House, 66 Broad Street, a caller reports that cash was stolen from an office, the responding officer reports the caller said that about 2:30 p.m. she discovered that an envelope containing about $200 in cash was missing from her desk;
6:47 p.m.: animal complaint, South St., a caller reports a baby skunk is trapped in his cellar stairs, a responding animal control officer reports the skunk was rescued;
7:36 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to have been revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:52 p.m.: trespassing, Park Square, Elm Street, a patrol office reports he observed persons with skateboards at the Green, the officer reports that the youths were informed that skateboarding is prohibited in city parks and advised to leave the area.
