1:47 a.m.: Accident, East Mountain Road. Police received a report of a one-vehicle accident, a vehicle struck a telephone pole. Live wires were reported following the pole being struck and one person was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital via Westfield Fire ambulance and personnel. The road was also closed for several hours. More information can be found in the Dec. 18 edition of The Westfield News.
9:14 a.m.: Forgery/counterfeiting, Walmart Springfield Road. Police received a report of 12 counterfeit $50 bills reportedly received by the store.The incident is under investigation.
5:15 p.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, North Elm Street. Police reported that a vehicle was initially stopped for speeding. The operator also allegedly had a suspended license and a warrant out for their arrest. Police arrested Omy J. Calderon, 22, of Springfield, was arrested on the warrant, in addition to being charged with operating motor vehicle with license suspended and speeding in violation of special regulation.
7:07 p.m.: Accident, hit-and-run, Whitaker Road. Police received a report of a vehicle that was allegedly struck by a gold Honda Odyssey and the Odyssey allegedly left the scene. No charges filed at the time of the report.
