Police log, Dec. 4, 2016

WESTFIELD

10:57 a.m.: Larceny, Orange Street. A resident reported that a compressor was stolen from his home. Police were unable to specify more on the alleged theft.

2:02 p.m.: Motor vehicle theft, Big Y, East Silver Street. Police received a report of a car that was reportedly stolen while an elderly woman was inside of it. A male about 5 feet 5 inches, dark hair and greenish blue eyes, had come to the car, which was running at the time, and reportedly told the elderly woman to get out of the car. The woman was not injured during the incident. Police were given a description of the car and where it was headed, but were unable to find the car in the city. No arrests were made.

2:02 p.m.: Suspicious person, Amelia Park, South Broad Street. Police received a report a short time prior to the above theft of a suspicious male who reportedly told a woman he was parking security and that he would have to move her car from the parking spot it was in and asked for her keys. The male had a similar description of the suspect in the above incident. The woman flagged a person over and refused to give the suspect her keys. He left the scene.

8:47 p.m.: recovered motor vehicle, South Broad Street. Police recovered a motor vehicle in a South Broad Street business parking lot that was initially reported stolen out of Chicopee. Police believed that it may have been tied to the previous unarmed motor vehicle theft that occurred in the city.
