Major crime and incident report
Monday, December 7, 2015
12:33 a.m.:
unwanted guest, Union Street, man knocked on girlfriend’s door reporting he had been stabbed in the leg, victim told police he fell, victim transported to Baystate Medical Center for laceration to leg, police obtained victim’s pants from ER nurse to try to determine whether it was a stabbing and type of blade used, no suspect identified nor arrest made;
9:19 a.m.: accident, 21 Southampton Road at Friendly’s Way, caller reported seeing a vehicle hit a man on a bike and then leave the scene onto the Mass Pike, man was not injured but bike was damaged;
9:33 a.m.: school investigation, Westfield High School, 177 Montgomery Road, investigated/report taken;
9:48 a.m.: burglary/breaking & entering, Sycamore Street, caller reported that someone had entered the garage and house over the weekend, aluminum siding from garage was stolen;
10:40 a.m.: larceny, Bush St., man reported that his girlfriend stole two checks and cashed one by forging his name and took his car without permission;
12:38 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield Technical Academy lower campus, 33 Smith Ave., investigated/report taken;
12:52 p.m.: larceny, Montgomery Road, man reported a snow plow was stolen from his property, which he found out was originally stolen from Southwick, Southwick police are currently investigating the theft;
5:31 p.m.: accident, Westfield Bank, 136 Elm St., man reported that his friend’s vehicle was struck and the side mirror was taken off, vehicle left the scene, witness gave police plate number;
5:35 p.m.: accident, 115 W. Silver St. At 14 Mill St., 2006 Chevy and 1999 Ford, one transported to Baystate Noble Hospital, no tows;
6:16 p.m.: fraud, Christopher Drive, party reported being victim of identity fraud;
7:22 p.m.: breaking and entering motor vehicle, New England Dance & Gymnastics Center, 28 Southwick Road, woman reported a laptop stolen from her vehicle while parked at this location, police got a call from off-duty auxiliary officer who witnessed a blue sedan dumping items out of his car near 88 S. Maple St, the items matched those stolen from the other vehicle, police will be checking security footage from the nearby Sunoco;
10:10 p.m.: property found, 51 Broad St., man inherited a safe with old ammunition that he does not want because the primers are rusted on the cartridges, he didn’t know how to dispose of it in a safe manner.
