12:31 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Atwater Street at Parker Avenue, a patrol officer reports a vehicle found to be parked in violation of the snow emergency parking ban was cited, similar citations were issued on Atwater Street (4), Grant Street, Sycamore Street, Pochassic Street, McKinley Terrace, Ridgeway Street (3), Cleveland Avenue, Scenic Road, Bush Street, Day Avenue and Crown Street;
12:47 a.m.: disturbance, Mechanic Street, a caller requests assistance with vehicles parked on his property but before officers could respond a college-aged party broke up and flooded the area with college students, the responding supervisory officer reports that he arrived to find four or five people fighting and 20-30 people watching and encouraging the altercation, the officer reports the participants fled upon his arrival but he detained one man, the officer’s investigation revealed that the man detained had been attempting to break up the fight and he was released;
9:10 a.m.: assist resident, East Bartlett Street, a property owner called police to request that damage he discovered at his rental property be documented, the responding officer reports the property is rented to college students and he observed a variety of damage and infractions, the officer reports the case was referred to the community policing officer for the area since none of the tenants would answer their doors when he knocked;
1:41 p.m.: accident, Holland Avenue, a caller reports a plow truck struck a gas line outside and she can now smell an odor of gas inside her home where a pellet stove is in use, the responding firefighters report the gas line was broken between the valve and the meter and they were able to shut the gas off, the G&E responded to deal with the broken line;
4:15 p.m.: parking complaint, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle parked in a handicap space without a handicap placard, a citation was issued.
