1:07 a.m.: vandalism, Westfield Middle School South, West Silver Street, a caller reports a pickup truck is “doing donuts” on the school’s athletic fields near the school maintenance garage, the responding officer reports tire damage to the field;
1:51 a.m.: disturbance, North Elm Street, a bar employee reports a fight in the bar spilled into the parking lot where one party “flashed a firearm” and made threats before fleeing in a vehicle, a responding officer reports she stopped the car at the intersection of Notre Dame and Moseley streets, Desmond D. Mixon, 21, of 803 Armory St., Springfield, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon and threatening to commit a crime;
6:41 a.m.: vandalism Western Circle, a caller reports her mother’s car was vandalized overnight, the caller said that the windows were smashed and Russian profanity was keyed into the paint, the responding officer reports three vehicles in the area were similarly vandalized;
9:55 a.m.: larceny, Murphy Circle, a caller reports her medications were stolen, the responding officer reports the victim said that a whole bottle of prescription medication has been stolen, an investigation was initiated;
11:10 a.m.: larceny, Washington Street, a resident came to the station to complain that his rent money was stolen by a neighbor, the responding officer reports an investigation into the identity of a suspect is ongoing;
5:22 p.m.: vandalism, North Road, a caller reports a traffic sign has been cut down, the responding officer reports part of a metal “Caution” sign was removed from its post and left rolled up on the ground;
8:17 p.m.: larceny, Ridgecrest Drive, a resident came to the station to report a vintage car was stolen, the responding officer reports that the complaint said that a 1960 Ford Sunliner which has not been driven since the owner passed away in 1996 was stolen from the garage, the officer reports a neighbor said that a tow truck had taken the car a couple of weeks earlier;
8:34 p.m.: fire, East Main Street, a caller reports a car in a supermarket parking lot is on fire, dual response dispatched, the responding firefighters report no flame was showing but fire was evident in the passenger compartment of the unoccupied car, the fire was extinguished, firefighters report the fire appeared to have been in the vicinity of the driver’s side door window motor.
