1:44 p.m.: arrest, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington St., a detective reports an arrest on a warrant issued by Westfield District Court, Brianne Barra, 18, of 171 Andover St., Lowell, was arrested on the warrant, see story in the March 21 edition of The Westfield News;
1:46 p.m.: motor vehicle theft, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, a caller reports her car was taken by an unknown man, the responding officer reports that two victims reported that a described male party first lured the passenger from the vehicle by saying fluid was leaking and then got in and told the operator to drive so he could show her what was leaking, the victim said that after a short distance the man told her to stop and get out of the car whereupon he got in and drove away, the officer reports a suspect was identified and State Police found the vehicle at an address in Chester associated with the suspect, the suspect was asleep inside and money and other items belonging to the victims were missing, Roy Michael Reidy Jr., 54, of 697 Skyline Trail, Chester, was arrested for carjacking, larceny of property valued more than $250 and larceny of a motor vehicle.
