10:30 a.m.: illegal trash disposal, Russell Road, a caller reports a described vehicle left the area after dumping refuse at an apartment complex, the responding officer reports a suspect was identified;
11:44 a.m.: found property, Elm Street, a resident came to the station to surrender a driver’s license found on Elm Street, the responding officer reports he was not able to immediately locate the owner;
12:01 p.m.: animal complaint, Main Street, an animal control officer reports she investigated an opossum reportedly sleeping at the doorway of a business, the ACO reports the animal was found to be injured and she will contact a wildlife rehabilitation;
2:54 p.m.: larceny, Springdale Road, a Springfield resident came to the station to complain that his cell phone was stolen at his workplace, the responding officer reports an employee is seen on security video taking the phone, the officer reports the company will address the issue internally;
6:46 p.m.: accident, Overlook Drive, a caller reports a street lamp has been knocked over and is partially in the roadway, the responding officer reports the pole is down and damaged, the G&E was notified, the officer reports tracks indicate that the vehicle which struck the pole drove over a lawn, the officer spoke with the property owner who said that he is renting the property which is currently vacant, a supervisory officer noted that the property is listed as an Air BnB rental;
7:12 p.m.: found property, Meadow Street, a caller reports a children’s tricycle was apparently abandoned near a bike rack at an apartment complex, the responding officer reports the tricycle was transported to the station for safe keeping;
9:50 p.m.: vandalism, Elm Street, a caller reports graffiti has been found on the side of an apartment building, the officer reports a swastika was found to have been spray painted on a wall.
