12:10 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports that a van seen operating without lights was found to be operated by a 15-year-old boy, the officer reports the boy was not wearing a seatbelt and did not have the vehicle’s registration in his possession, the boy’s parents were found to be out of town and an elder brother arrived at the scene to take custody of the offender;
1:01 a.m.: accident, Russellville Road, a caller reports a vehicular crash, the responding officer reports he investigated a single-vehicle crash in which the pickup truck left the roadway, rolled over and struck both a utility pole and a fire hydrant before coming to rest, the operator told the officer that he had been traveling at the speed limit when his tires started to skid, both the operator and a passenger were transported to Baystate Medical Center where both were admitted but have since been discharged;
1:15 a.m.: assist resident, Jefferson Street, a caller reports a neighbor with a face covered with blood came to her door for help, the responding firefighters report that the man was intoxicated and he was transported to Noble Hospital for treatment, a community policing officer reports that she interviewed the victim the next day when he said that he does not really remember how he was assaulted but said he probably deserved it, the CPO reports the man was very sure that he does not wish to pursue criminal charges;
1:54 a.m.: disturbance, Orange Street, a caller reports he was assaulted by a known man, the responding office reports the woman said that she had left after visiting a relative and realized that she had left her cigarettes behind so she returned, the woman said that when she knocked on the door another resident punched her, threatened her with a butcher’s knife and bit her elbow, Julio C. Alicea 55, of 86 Orange St., was arrested for assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon;
12:45 p.m.: vandalism, School Street, a caller reports that an office window was broken, the responding officer reports it appears someone punched the window as no projectile was found;
3:51 p.m.: shoplifting, Franklin Street, a caller from a Franklin Street economy store reports a shoplifter fled the store, the responding officer reports that the caller provided a video image of the suspect and the registration number of the vehicle he left in;
9:41 p.m.: assist resident, North Elm Street, a caller reports he thinks he may be overdosing on cocaine as he has been smoking the drug for six hours, dual response dispatched, the man was transported to Noble Hospital by Fire Department ambulance.
