Major crime and incident report

6:57 a.m.: Accident, Noble Avenue and West Silver Street. Police received a report of a city vehicle involved in an accident. A 2017 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2016 Nissan Frontier were involved. No injuries were reported and no tow trucks requested.

8:17 a.m.: Larceny, walk-in. Police received a report from a person who claimed that there was a theft from their home of jewelry and medications. A relative was reported as the suspect.

8:25 a.m.: Breaking and entering motor vehicle, Taylor Avenue. Police received a report that someone came to their car and found an individual next to their vehicle reportedly with the hood up and the person fled the scene. It was reported that a laptop and a tablet were allegedly missing from the vehicle.

2:36 p.m.: Accident, Park Square. Police reported an accident.  A 2012 Honda Odyssey and a tractor-trailer were involved. No injuries reported and no tow trucks requested.

9 p.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest. Police reported they stopped a vehicle after a random check of a license plate. The operator, Ricardo J. Santiago, 29, of Westfield, reportedly had a suspended license. Police arrested Santiago and charged him with operating motor vehicle with license suspended.
