Major crime and incident report

2:09 a.m.:
accident, Quality Inn, 2 Southampton Road, 2008 Ford towed, no injuries;
10:59 a.m.: assault, Orange Street, man reported he was assaulted the night before while at a friend’s house;
11:47 a.m.: medical emergency, 12 Franklin Ave., 56-year-old man found not breathing and unconscious, CPR started, patient died at Baystate Noble Hospital, medical examiner’s office took jurisdiction of body;
11:55 a.m.: vandalism, Sanford Apartments, 330 Elm St., caller provided information regarding a BB gun being shot towards the building;
1:02 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield Technical Academy lower campus, 33 Smith Ave., investigated;
2:35 p.m.: accident, Municipal Parking lot, Thomas Street, 2008 Hyundai, 2007 BMW and 1997 Ford, no tows, patient refused medical transport;
4:58 p.m.: burglary/breaking and entering, Honey Pot Road, caller reported noticing that $8,000 in cash was missing from the basement, resident reported plumbers had recently been working in the area;
6:29 p.m.: suspicious person, CSX Railroad tracks, Springfield Road, Mikhail M. Stepanchuk, 27, of 137 Great Plains Road, West Springfield, arrested on charges of receiving stolen property over $250, resisting arrest and attempting to commit crime;
6:50 p.m.: accident, Citgo, 439 N. Elm St., 2007 Chevy Impala and 2005 Kia (towed), one transported to Baystate Noble Hospital.
