Monday, July 1, 2013
12:37 a.m.: assist other agency, Noble Hospital, 115 W. Silver St., a caller from the hospital reports an intoxicated patient is assaulting staff and attempting to leave, the responding officer reports the charge nurse said that the woman did not need medical treatment but was obviously intoxicated, the officer reports the woman displayed the classic symptoms of alcohol intoxication and was placed in protective custody;
5:57 a.m.: incapacitated person, Whitney Playground, Shepard Street, a caller reports a person is passed out in the park, the responding officer reports a known homeless man was found to be highly intoxicated and was placed in protective custody;
6:15 a.m.: found property, Southwick Road, a patrol officer reports he was flagged down by a pedestrian who surrendered a cell phone found on the side of Southwick Road;
12:15 p.m.: rescue, East Mountain Road at Springdale Road, a caller reports his vehicle is stuck and flooding, dual response dispatched, the responding firefighters report the man was removed from the vehicle to land, the responding officer reports East Mountain Road was closed from the hospital to Springfield Road due to flooding, the vehicle was towed to a police impound yard;
12:22 p.m.: public assistance, Delmont Avenue, a caller reports a bus garage is flooding, the responding firefighters report the water was evacuated;
12:47 p.m.: assist citizen, Westfield Police Department, a detective reports a resident came to the station to surrender firearms and a license to carry pursuant to a court order;
6:00 p.m.: officer wanted, Hampton Ponds Plaza, North Road, a detective reports he came upon a person he had been advised was wanted on an out-of-state warrant, Tito Anthony Pacheco, 32, of 14 Pinewood Lane, was arrested as a fugitive from justice, during the booking process he was found to be in possession of brass knuckles, a variety of pills labeled in another person’s name and a bag containing white powder, Pacheco was also charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, possession of a Class B drug and possession of a Class E drug;
6:19 p.m.: arrest, East Mountain Road, a detective reports that, pursuant to an ongoing breaking and entering investigation, a vehicle was stopped on East Mountain Road, Jordan J. Skipper, 35, of 2 Old House Road, Montgomery, was arrested for possession of a Class A drug, six counts of breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony and six counts of larceny of property valued more than $250, see story in Friday edition of The Westfield News;
7:58 a.m.: fraud, Brookline Ave., a resident came to the station to complain that her credit card was fraudulently used, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;
8:12 p.m.: violation of a protective order, Franklin Street, the plaintiff of a protective order reports the defendant of the order has violated the order by approaching closer than 100 yards, the responding officer reports the order was confirmed, Donald Patrick Flynn, 54, of no known address in Westfield, was arrested for violation of a protective order;
9:21 p.m.: found property, Springfield Road, a resident came to the station to surrender a wallet found in the parking lot of a Springfield Road department store, the responding office reports repeated attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful and the wallet was held for safe keeping;

12:01 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports one of the occupants of the vehicle admitted possession of a small amount of marijuana, a city ordinance violation citation was filed;
1:47 a.m.: fireworks, King Street, a caller reports a neighbor is igniting fireworks, the responding officer reports he arrived at the reported location to see a male party running to the house, the officer reports the man denied lighting fireworks but the officer saw a fireworks tube in plain sight on the porch which was warm and reeked of gunpowder, the man then admitted he had set off fireworks and was advised that an additional complaint could result in criminal charges;
2:07 a.m.: breaking and entering, Van Dussen Apartments, 42 Arnold Street, a caller reports he came home to find a window had been kicked in and his rent money had been stolen, the responding officer reports the window was broken and the man said that $500 in cash, a cell phone charger and medications had been stolen;
11:23 a.m.: lost property, William Street, a Chester resident came to the station to report the theft of her iPad, the responding officer reports the woman said that she left property including the computer on top of her vehicle when she drove away from a William Street address;
11:43 a.m.: breaking and entering, Van Dussen Apartments, 42 Arnold Street, a resident came to the station to report larceny from his apartment, the responding officer reports entry was apparently made via a window and clothing items were stolen;
12:23 p.m.: animal complaint, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, a caller reports a neighbor’s dog jumped on and bit her child but did not break the skin, the responding officer requests an animal control officer to assist with the ongoing problem, the officer reports the ACO took custody of the dog;
4:12 p.m.: burning complaint, Russellville Road, a caller reports a person is burning automotive seats and parts, dual response dispatched, the responding fire captain reports the resident was advised to read the regulations more closely and to extinguish the fire, the responding officer reports several unregistered vehicles were seen on the property and the owner was advised to register them, the man said that he was in the process of removing the vehicles from his property;
4:32 p.m.: incapacitated person, Elm Street, a caller reports he saw a person lying on the ground behind an Elm Street building, the responding officer reports he found a male party who admitted he had been drinking but said he couldn’t remember where he was or how he got there, the man was transported to Noble Hospital for treatment;
4:44 p.m.: larceny, Southampton Road, a caller from a Southampton Road gas station and convenience store report an employee has stolen more than $2,000 over the weekend, the responding officer reports that the complainant said that there were discrepancies between the recorded amounts of cash deposited in the drop safe and the actual cash found in the safe, the officer reports that the employee who had been working is currently unavailable for questioning;
5:00 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Mountain Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be suspended and nonrenewable, the plates were seized and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
11:05 p.m.: vandalism, Miller Street, a caller reports youths on bicycles are throwing eggs, the responding officer reports he found three boys who were responsible for the call and were required to clean up the mess they made;
11:54 p.m.: assist other police department, Mechanic Street, Stockbridge police request that an officer attempt to serve a warrant on a city resident, the responding officer reports the suspect was found at his last known address, Isaac J. King, 38, of 96 Mechanic St., was arrested on the warrant.
