Major crime and incident report
Friday, July 10, 2015
9:00 a.m.: officer wanted; resident turned in an expired FID card, a .20 gauge shotgun and 42 .20 gauge shotgun shells because he was rejected by the state for FID renewal;
2:02 p.m.: identity fraud; caller reported she was a victim of a phone scam involving her computer; she received a call that her computer had a virus; she gave credit card information to pay $155 to fix computer, but then computer would no longer work;
2:34 p.m.: property found; a cellular telephone was found in lobby of 25 Thomas St. and turned in to police;
3:31 p.m.: property found; maintenance from Easthampton Savings Bank turned in a blue Mongoose BMX bicycle which was left on the property;
6:43 p.m.: reported death; Prospect Street, police received a call from a woman saying she went to check on her brother because she and family had not heard from him since Wednesday. She found him, a 52-year-old man, deceased; victim appeared to have fallen; medical examiner and Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home notified;
9:30 p.m.: accident, vicinity of 733 Western Ave. at 9 Llewellyn Drive, no injuries, a 2012 Ford Focus and 2002 Honda CRV were towed from the scene.
