1:35 a.m.: accident, Elm Street, a caller reports a vehicle struck a bank building, the responding officer reports there was no damage to the building but the operator was found to have a suspended license, a criminal complaint was filed;
6:42 a.m.: disturbance, Springfield Road, a caller reports a male party is slapping a female party in the parking lot of a Springfield Road department store, the responding officer reports he encountered the couple in a vehicle and both parties denied a physical altercation, the officer reports the vehicle was found to be unregistered with plates attached which had been issued to another vehicle, the car was towed to the police impound yard and the officer reports the female party and her two children were provided a courtesy transport to an East Silver Street address;
6:46 a.m.: larceny, Tekoa Country Club, 459 Russell Road, a caller reports vandalism and missing marker flags, the responding officer reports the caller said that six marker flags were stolen from the course and portable toilets had been knocked over overnight;
8:46 a.m.: animal complaint, Pochassic Road, a caller reports a cow near the roadway, the responding officer reports a local farmer said he knows who the cow belongs to and was willing to secure the cow, the man said he would notify the owner to repair the breach in the fence;
8:50 a.m.: found property, Notre Dame Street, a caller reports finding hypodermic needles in the middle of the sidewalk, the responding officer reports he disposed of two needles;
9:52 a.m.: vandalism, General Shepard Apartments, 25 Thomas Street, a caller reports a window of her vehicle was smashed overnight, the responding officer reports the caller showed him that the rear window has been smashed out but the instrument used was not found, nothing appeared to have been taken, the security video for the complex will be reviewed;
4:24 p.m.: recreational vehicle violation, Sgt. T.M. Dion Way, ATV patrol officers report they encountered three Springfield resident who had trucked motorcycles to the city to ride in sand pits accessible from Sgt. T.M. Dion Way, the men were identified and advised that they may not ride the machines in the city;
4:43 p.m.: trespassing, Park Square, a patrol officer reports he observed four children in the 4-6-year-old age group swimming in the fountain at the Green, the officer reports he attempted to speak to a woman with the children who did not speak English but the officer believes his meaning was conveyed, the woman left the park with the children;
8:13 p.m.: found property, Southampton Road, a caller reports a customer left a wallet at a car repair facility, the responding officer reports he contacted Southampton police with a request to notify the owner but no response was made to the message left by Southampton police, the wallet was transported to the station for safe keeping;
9:15 p.m.: arrest, Lower Sandy Hill Road, officers report they became aware that a resident was the subject of an outstanding warrant and sought the man at his last known address, Wes T. Kellogg, 42, of 289 Lower Sandy Hill Road, was arrested on the warrant without incident;
9:37 p.m.: breaking and entering, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports when she returned home she opened her door and was knocked over by two male intruders who fled her apartment, the responding officer reports entry was made via a window and jewelry and cash were stolen:

12:20 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Half Mile Falls, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered five persons enjoying the park and informed them of the city ordinance establishing a curfew in city parks, the persons left the area;
2:28 a.m.: vandalism, Crown Street, a caller reports his vehicle was vandalized, the responding officer reports the caller said he heard a noise and checked to find that the windshield and hood of his vehicle had been damaged;
3:07 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Park Square, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered three teenaged boys enjoying the park and informed them of the city ordinance establishing a curfew in city parks, the boys left the area;
3:28 a.m.: vandalism, Crown Street, a caller reports her vehicle and her boyfriend’s vehicle were vandalized, the responding officer reports the caller said she checked the cars after eh saw police in the area and found her registration plate missing and her boyfriend’s damaged;
6:04 a.m.: animal complaint, Rhodes Ave., a caller reports he has taken custody of two stray husky dogs, the responding animal control officer reports he transported the two dogs to the municipal animal shelter;
6:59 a.m.: vandalism, Crown Street, a caller reports her vehicle and her husband’s vehicle were vandalized, the responding officer reports the caller said she found the windshield and rear window of her car had been shattered and the windshield of her husband’s truck has also been smashed;
8:26 a.m.: vandalism, Crown Street, a caller reports he was walking and noticed that a neighbor’s registration plate had been ripped from the car, the responding officer reports that there was no damage tot eh vehicle and he was able to replace it on the car;
10:38 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports that the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed;
2:22 p.m.: animal complaint, Highland Avenue, a caller reports his children located a bat which had fallen from a tree, the responding officer reports the bat did not appear to be distressed and was relocated to a wooded area;
3:00 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a vehicle operated by a person with a suspended license, a criminal complaint was filed and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
7:10 p.m.: assist citizen, Prospect Hill Apartments, 33 Montgomery St., a caller reports he is stuck in an elevator ,the responding firefighters report the woman was removed from the elevator;
7:41 p.m.: accident, Little River Road at Shaker Road, a caller reports a crash, the responding officer reports a vehicle which paused for traffic was struck in the rear by a following vehicle, the officer reports the operator of the offending vehicle reported injury and was transported to Baystate Medical Center where she was admitted for treatment, a hospital spokesperson said that the woman was discharged on Tuesday;
8:42 p.m.: fire, Riverside Drive, a caller reports thick black smoke in the area, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports that a resident was burning furniture and extinguished the fire when he was advised of his violation;
9:28 p.m.: unwanted guest, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, an apparently intoxicated woman reports she is calling for a male resident who has an unwanted guest, the responding officer reports the resident was found to be highly intoxicated and was deemed to be unable to care for himself, there was nobody else in the residence and the man was placed in protective custody;
9:44 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered three persons who appeared to be engaged in a road rage incident, the officer reports the men were separated and one was found to be obviously highly intoxicated, Matthew P. Siska, 31, of 129 Prospect Street Extension, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor;
9:47 p.m.: disturbance, Montgomery Road, a caller reports hearing a disturbance and a State Police officer reports two persons approached him to report a disturbance at the location, the responding officer reports he spoke with a farm owner who said that he and his adult sons were enjoying a bonfire at the rear of the property but agreed to extinguish the fire;
10:25 p.m.: disturbance, Beveridge Boulevard, a caller reports a person knocked down a street sign with a metal bar and returned to a nearby party, the responding officer reports the sign was retrieved and the party participants were picked up by parents.
