Major crime and incident report
Wednesday, July 22, 2015
1:16 a.m.: structure fire, 23 Family Lane, dual response;
10:23 a.m.: one-car accident, Toledo Ave., vehicle hit tree, injuries reported, driver transported to Baystate Medical Center, 2008 Nissan towed from scene;
12:02 p.m.: identity fraud, Edgewood Apartments, 134 Union St., resident reported someone attempted to file a tax return using her name;
4:13 p.m.: officer wanted, Westfield Police station, resident surrendered firearms in accordance with 209A service;
7:09 p.m.: accident, 8 Little River Road at 587 E. Main St., minor property damage, driver refused transport;
7:33 p.m.: identity fraud, Willow Brook Lane, resident reported being victim of identity fraud;
8:21 p.m.: vandalism motor vehicle, Powdermill Village Building, resident reported someone known to victim poured sugar into his gas tank;
9:43 p.m.: suspicious person, Shea’s Barbershop, 243 Elm St., intoxicated person transported to Noble Hospital;
10:38 p.m.: suspicious person, Verona Street, Timothy Jones, 40, of 165 Windsor St., West Springfield arrested on charges of felony breaking and entering of vehicle/boat nighttime, larceny of motor vehicle, subsequent offense, taking/carrying away registration plate and possessing burglarious instrument;
11:49 p.m.: suspicious, Jessie Lane, caller reported suspicious vehicles parked in the area, teens went into the woods; police officers called the parents of all involved parties and remained on scene until everyone was picked up; one teen transported to hospital for intoxication.
