12:52 a.m.: trespassing, Park Square, two persons were seen on the Green, the responding officer reports he advised the persons of the curfew which applies to city parks and they left without incident;
12:56 a.m.: trespassing, Hampton Ponds Playground, Old Stage Road, a patrol officer reports he investigated a vehicle seen at the playground and advised the occupants of the curfew which applies to city parks, the vehicle left without incident;
6:32 a.m.: assist citizen, Southampton Road, a caller requests assistance getting into his running vehicle, the responding deputy fire chief reports entry was made;
8:53 a.m.: well-being check, Oaks Trailer Park, 404 Southwick Road, an anonymous correspondent reports an autistic child living at the trailer park is often unattended and may be neglected, the responding officer reports he found the boy’s mother who acknowledged that her 10-year-old autistic son does sometimes walk around the trailer park but said he is not neglected, the woman allowed the officer to inspect the interior of the trailer which he found to be very cluttered and dirty although the boy appeared to be in good health, the officer reports the Department of Children and Families was notified of the boy’s living conditions;
9:48 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Friendly’s Way, a detail officer reports he observed a person operating a vehicle whose license to operate is believed to have been revoked, the responding officer reports the man’s license status was confirmed, the vehicle was stopped and Matthew J. Bush, 32, of 51 Yeoman Ave., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as a habitual traffic offender;
10:38 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating which displayed registration plates from two different states, the officer reports that no record of the South Carolina plate was found and the Washington registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
3:12 p.m.: animal complaint, Pequot Point Road, the director of animal control operations reports he helped a raccoon escape from a refuse container;
5:05 p.m.: larceny, Pochassic Road, a juvenile resident came to the station to report his bicycle valued at about $450 was stolen, the responding officer reports the boy said that he had been swinging into the river from the rope swing on the north side of the river west of Whitney Playground and when he returned for his bike he found it had been stolen;
5:37 p.m.: assist citizen, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington St., a resident came to the station to complain that her estranged husband failed to bring their child to the station for transfer as agreed, the responding officer reports he sought the woman’s husband at his address of record and his father said that he was asleep and added that there is no visitation agreement in force, the officer met with the boy who appeared to be healthy and in good spirits, the officer reports the child’s father subsequently called the station and was advised to formalize a visitation agreement with the court;
5:48 p.m.: assist citizen, Spring Street, a resident came to the station to report that his girlfriend took their one-month-old baby and left the residence, the responding officer reports he spoke with the woman who said that she is staying with her mother and has invited the baby’s father to visit them there;
6:30 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Powder Mil Village, 126 Union St., a patrol officer reports he observed a parked vehicle with revoked registration , the plates were seized.
