5:17 a.m.: fire, Main Street, a caller reports the contents of a trash can on Main Street are burning, the responding firefighters report the fire was extinguished;
9:00 a.m.: larceny, Miller Street, a caller reports her son’s bicycle valued at $700 was stolen from her yard, the responding officer reports the caller said that the bike had been unlocked when it was parked next to the house about 8 p.m. and was found to have been stolen in the morning;
10:33 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
11:57 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
12:42 p.m.: burning complaint, Ridgeview Terrace, a caller reports a neighbor who has been burning repeatedly is burning again, the responding fire captain reports the homeowner extinguished the fire;
2:14 p.m.: assist other agency, Westfield District Court, 224 Elm St., an officer detailed to assist the court by delivering a message reports he observed a woman who had recently been served with an abuse prevention order violate the order by approaching the residence, the woman fled the scene and the officer reports a request for a warrant was filed;
4:13 p.m.: officer anted, Franklin Street, a person came to the station to report a hypodermic needle was found on a path connecting Franklin and Morris streets, the responding officer reports the needle was properly disposed of;
5:43 p.m.: larceny, Wild Flower Circle, a resident came to the station to report the rear registration plate was stolen from her father’s vehicle which she has control of, the responding officer reports the woman said that the plate was last seen while she was at a West Springfield restaurant;
6:24 p.m.: larceny, Edgewood Apartments, 134 Union St., a caller reports property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that she went to get her passport from a closet where she keeps it and found the passport and an airline ticket were missing, the woman said that she has not seen the missing items for some time, there were no signs of forcible entry and nothing else is missing;
7:58 p.m.: suspicious person, Whitaker Road, a caller reports that a male party in a van attempted to grab her as he drove past, the responding officer report the caller said that while she was jogging on Whitaker Road at the operator of a van slowed and made hand gestures which she found disturbing, the woman said she reversed direction and the van did too, the woman said the van lingered in the area for a few minutes before leaving, the responding officer reports a search of the area did not yield a suspect;
8:39 p.m.: fraud, Gloria Drive, a resident came to the station to report fraudulent use of her credit card, the responding officer report the woman said that she was notified of a $600 purchase made with her credit account at a New York store and reports the charge is fraudulent, the woman said that she still has physical possession of her card;
9:04 p.m.: larceny, Westfield Middle School North, 350 Southampton Road, a caller reports a student’s bike was stolen, the responding officer reports the boy said that he parked his bicycle at a bike rack when he arrived for a summer school session and observed it to be in place during a break at 7:45 p.m., the bicycle was found to be missing when he returned to the unlocked bike at 9 p.m., security video will be reviewed.
