10:50 a.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, North Elm Street. An officer received a tip from a passerby that said that Jeffrey J Newsome, 27, of Holyoke, was operating a vehicle but does not have a valid license to do so. The person who gave the tip refused to be identified. The police found Newsome operating a vehicle traveling down Southampton Road and verified he had a revoked license. Newsome was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked.

1:32 p.m.: Larceny, East Silver Street. Police received a report that a cell phone was either lost or stolen from an elderly resident. Police investigated and the results were inconclusive.

2:14 p.m.: Larceny, walk-in. Police received a walk-in complaint from a man who said that his paddle boat was stolen. Within the past week of this complaint the man also reported a kayak stolen. He could not give defining characteristics to either vessel.

3:05 p.m.: Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, East Main Street. Police received a report that someone smashed the window of her vehicle and allegedly stole her wallet. The victim reported that she heard her car alarm go off and she came outside, but did not see anyone near the vehicle.

3:29 p.m.: Larceny, walk-in. Police received a report from a walk-in party that their pocketbook was stolen. This incident however, took place on July 4 at Hampton Ponds. They had no suspects or other information at the time of this report.
