7:12 a.m.: school investigation, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, 33 Smith Ave., a school resource officer requests a marked unit at the school where a person is allegedly selling alcohol to minors, the responding officer reports that a male party is believed to have provided alcohol to female students at the school but a dearth of cooperative witnesses limits police options;
9:57 a.m.: school investigation, a school resource officer reports something was burned in the main office, see story in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
12:19 p.m.: found property, Elm Street, a caller reports finding a hypodermic needle in an Elm Street alley, the responding officer reports the needle was safely disposed of;
12:49 p.m.: larceny, Southampton Road, a resident came to the station to complain that her pocketbook was stolen from her vehicle, the responding officer reports that the complainant said that her parked car had been unlocked when it was entered and her purse was stolen;
2:12 p.m.: larceny, Southampton Road, a caller reports an employee of an automotive repair facility has stolen cash from the business, the responding officer reports that the caller said that a review of security video revealed that an employee stole about $80 in cash, the company management told the officer that they will seek a civil remedy;
4:27 p.m.: identity fraud, Sycamore Street, a resident came to the station to report she is being dunned for payment of a telephone account opened in her name without her knowledge, the report was filed;
4:28 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Meadow Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
8:28 p.m.: fraud, Russellville Road, caller from a Russellville Road farm stand reports that a known customer paid for merchandise with a check which was not honored, the responding officer reports the suspect said that use of the invalid check was inadvertent and agreed to make restitution;
10:09 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the vehicle was towed due to a license issue.
