12:48 a.m.: accident, Church Street, a caller reports that a car struck several parked vehicles, the responding officer reports he arrived to find residents speaking with the suspect who admitted striking the vehicles and appeared to be intoxicated, the man failed a field sobriety test, Alexander Vinarsky, 22, of 35 Rockledge Drive, Avon, Connecticut, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle;
10:22 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports his attention was drawn to a vehicle with an unusually loud exhaust system and a rejected inspection sticker, the vehicle was stopped and the operator’s license was found to be suspended, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard and the female operator was provided a courtesy transport to a George Street address;
11:17 a.m.: counterfeiting, North Elm Street, a caller from a North Elm Street fast food restaurant reports that a person came to the restaurant to complain that he was given a counterfeit $10 in change the night before, the manager took custody of the bill but did not replace it and the responding officer transported it to the station for further investigation;
2:24 p.m.: larceny, Westfield District Court, 224 Elm St., a court officer reports the theft of a defendant’s property, the responding officer reports the court officer said that a defendant claimed another person’s property bag when he was released, the officer said that there was a significant size difference between the defendant’s property bag containing a wallet and tee shirt and that of the other person’s transparent bag which contained a phone, iPod and jacket;
2:44 p.m.: officer wanted, Broad Street Apartments, 59 Broad Street, a caller reports he allowed a woman he met who had no place to stay to stay in his apartment in exchange for her help unpacking his belongings but has found that she has a drug habit, he said he is concerned because she has a friend coming to pick her up and is afraid she will steal his property, the responding officer reports nobody was found at the apartment which was secure, see 3:18 a.m. Saturday entry;
3:19 p.m.: officer wanted, Coolidge Avenue, a caller reports a 14-year-old boy was shot in the chest with a BB gun, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports a bruise resulted when the boy was shot with an air soft gun by a playmate who will be charged accordingly, the victim was not transported to hospital
3:39 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Broad Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired but it was renewed online before the operator proceeded;
8:07 p.m.: disturbance, Casimir Street, a caller reports hearing a male party yelling at somebody, the responding officer reports a resident said that her son was intoxicated and had verbally assaulted her so she and her daughter left the residence, the officer found that the man had been involved in two earlier minor disturbances a short time earlier and found him at an East Main Street location, the man was deemed to be to intoxicated to care for himself and was placed in protective custody.
