9:24 a.m.: school investigation, Westfield Vocational Technical High School, 33 Smith Ave., officer reports three students involved in disturbance, matter will be dealt with internally;
9:57 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Mockingbird Lane, officer reports sign on city-owned treebelt in violation of city bylaw confiscated;
10:59 a.m.: fraud, Northwest Road, citizen came to station to report that his Visa card was used in Dayton, Ohio, officer reports information taken for formal report;
11:55 a.m.: larceny, Cleveland Avenue, citizen came to station to report items missing from his residence, citizen had allowed guests to stay at residence until property started disappearing, guests left, reporting party found more items were missing, referred to the detective bureau for further investigation;
2:00 p.m.: assault, Walmart parking lot, 141 Springfield Road, caller reports vehicle with three men leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed, officer reports stopping a 2009 Jeep for going through a red traffic light, passenger in the vehicle, a man, was bleeding profusely from a head injury, officer escorted the Jeep to Noble Hospital and spoke with the bleeding man who stated that he had been hitchhiking on Route 20 and was picked up by three men, the vehicle entered the Walmart parking lot and one of the men struck him with a metal object causing the head wound, an officer was dispatched to Walmart parking lot and located blood and sunglasses belonging to the man, detective dispatched to document scene and take samples, officer identified the vehicle in which the man said he was attacked, the vehicle is registered to a Turners Falls resident, police in that community requested to speak to registered vehicle owner to identify who was using the vehicle, incident remains under investigation by detective bureau;
2:20 p.m.: violation of city ordinance, arrest, intersection of Elm and Orange streets, officer observed a subject riding a bicycle on the sidewalk in violation of city bylaws, officer identified the man as the subject of outstanding arrest warrants, Richard M. Clifford Jr., 31 taken into custody on two warrants;
4:27 p.m.: fraud, West School Street, citizen came to station to report that he was a victim of identity theft in 2010 and that he was contacted by the federal IRS to formally document that incident with the Police Department, officer reports information taken;
5:19 p.m.: disturbance, McKinley Terrace, caller reports a tenant came home intoxicated and broke windows of another resident, officer reports information taken and a criminal complaint for willful and malicious damage to property filed with the district court;
6:10 p.m.: officer wanted, CVS pharmacy, 208 Elm St., caller, a resident of Fairfield, Conn., reports being contacted by pharmacy that his prescription was ready for pick up, prescription was sent from a dentist’s office, caller reports that he has no knowledge of the dentist and did not request a prescription, caller was advised to file a report with the Fairfield Police Department for further investigation;
8:43 p.m.: traffic complaint, 1111 Southampton Road, patrol officer observed three vehicles in a secured section of the parking lot, three motor vehicle operators issued trespass citations.
