12:37 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration the vehicle was towed to the owner’s home;
12:45 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Arnold Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating without headlights and stopped the vehicle, a routine check revealed that the operator’s license had been revoked, when the operator was advised that he was arrested he refused to exit his car, Jimmy Jacobs, 29, was arrested for operating motor vehicle with a revoked license, operating a motor vehicle without headlights and for resisting arrest;
1:10 a.m.: noise complaint, Woronoco Avenue, a caller reports a noise complaint, the responding officer reports he observed three persons in the back yard of the address and one dropped a beer can and ran inside when he saw the officer, the officer detained the man who attempted to pull away from him and argued creating a disturbance, Dylan T. Lask, 21, of 1 Hillside Terrace, Ware, was arrested for disturbing the peace;
2:33 a.m: larceny, South Maple Street, a caller reports her son came home and said that his backpack had been stolen, the responding officer reports the boy said that he had been at a gathering of contemporaries in a wooded area when his backpack was stolen;
2:43 a.m.: suspicious persons, Union Street at Morgan Avenue, a patrol officer reports he observed three male parties who fled from him, a second officer assisted and three boys were briefly detained, one was found to be in possession of multiple packets of marijuana and scales and a criminal complaint for possession of a Class D drug with intent to distribute was filed;
6:55 a.m.: breaking and entering, Parkside Avenue, a caller reports her home may have been broken into overnight, the responding officer reports the caller said that a camera, her wallet and keys were stolen from her kitchen table sometime after midnight while she and her children were sleeping;
8:14 a.m: vandalism, Pineridge Drive, a resident came to the station to report he was threatened and his door was damaged, the responding officer reports the complainant said that another person came to his door to complain that his son had vandalized the other person’s mailbox and was banging on his door with a metal pipe causing damage, the officer reports that a criminal complaint was filed against the man who had damaged he door;
11:43 a.m.: vandalism, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports a neighbor is accusing her and her family of vandalism, the responding officer reports he was told that a neighbor with whom the caller has an ongoing dispute found his vehicle’s windshield had been broken and accused the caller;
2:15 p.m.: disturbance, Fowler Avenue, a caller reports he was assaulted by his stepson, the responding officer reports the caller had been engaged in a pushing match with the 18-year-old youth who has since left the area;
3:11 p.m.: assist citizen, Tannery Road, a resident came to the station to request assistance gathering her possessions from a former residence, the responding officer reports the woman took custody of her belongings without incident;
4:21 p.m.: fire, Buck Pond Road, a caller reports a tree fell on power lines and is now burning, the responding firefighters report the lines were arcing and ignited the tree but the rain extinguished the fire, the G&E was notified and was urged to prune the tree at the next opportunity;
4:39 p.m.: larceny, Hampton Ponds State Park, a Springfield resident came to the station to complain that her cell phone was stolen at the park, the responding officer reports the woman said that she left her phone in the bathroom and it was gone when she returned for it;
4:40 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker and stopped the van, a routine check revealed that the operator’s license had been suspended, a criminal complaint was filed and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
5:22 p.m.: accident, City View Boulevard, a caller reports a single vehicle accident, the responding officer reports the operator said that his vehicle began to hydroplane and left the roadway, the officer reports that the vehicle rolled completely over, the operator declined medical assistance but was a minor and his parents asked that he be transported to Noble Hospital for evaluation where he was treated and released;
5: 44 p.m.: fire, Big Wood Drive, a caller reports her car was struck by lightning and is smoking, see story in the Wednesday edition of The Westfield News;
6:55 p.m.: fire, North Road, multiple callers report a utility pole is burning, dual response dispatched, the responding firefighters report a primary wire was on the ground arcing and the G&E was notified, bystanders were evacuated and when the power to the fallen line was interrupted the resulting brush fire was extinguished;

1:53 a.m.: incapacitated person, Washington Street at Church Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a female party who was obviously intoxicated, the officer reports a routine check of the persons with the intoxicated revealed that a male party was the subject of an outstanding warrant, the intoxicated woman was left in the care of a friend, David A. Brown, Jr., 22, of 17 Washington St., was arrested on the warrant;
10:19 a.m.: harassment, Union Street, a resident came to the station to complain that for the second time friends and associates of a friend have taken pictures of his family from a social networking web site and altered them to make threatening images before reposting them, the officer reports the man was advised of the elements needed to secure a harassment order;
10:14 a.m.: assist citizen, Main Street, a caller reports her two-month-old son is locked inside her vehicle parked in a Main Street parking lot, the responding fire captain reports entry was made;
10:29 a.m.: breaking and entering, Bates Street, a resident came to the station and said that he has previously reported two attempts to enter his garage and wants to report a third, the reporting officer reports nothing has been found to have been stolen and the complainant said that the only suspect he can think of is a neighbor with whom he has ongoing issues;
1:14 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street at Delmont Avenue, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to have been revoked for lack of insurance and the operator had no status with the Registry of Motor Vehicles, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
2:10 p.m.: found property, Little River Road, a caller reports finding a driver’s license in the grass at the fire sub-station, the officer reports the owner could not be immediately contacted but a message was left, the license was store for safe keeping;
6:32 p.m.: assist citizen, Frederick Street, a caller reports her two-year-old daughter locked her out of her home where there are now several toddlers without supervision, dual response dispatched, the responding fire captain reports entry was made;
8:28 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports a passenger was found to be not using a seat belt and a citation was issued.
