Major crime and incident report

9:28 a.m.: Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, Cleveland Avenue. Police received a report that a resident’s locked vehicle was broken into and a GPS unit was stolen. However, police found no signs of forced entry. No other information available at the time of the report.

12:44 p.m.: Motor vehicle accident, Southampton Road and Friendly’s Way. Police responded to the intersection for an accident involving a Westfield Fire ambulance and a 2007 Ford F150. Police reported that the ambulance was traveling with lights and sirens and passed through a red light, but hit a vehicle that was also going through the intersection. Two people were transported to Baystate Noble with minor injuries.

4:06 p.m.: Identity fraud, walk-in. Police received a report that someone attempted to open a new bank account with a local resident’s identity. The information was flagged by the bank. No other information available at the time of the report.

4:45 p.m.: Motor vehicle accident, Springfield Road and Union Street. Police received multiple calls reporting an accident at the intersection, involving a 2008 Buick Enclave and a 2008 Ford van. No injuries reported or airbags deployed, and Department of Public Works were requested to clear debris from the road.
