Friday, June 5, 2015
2:31 a.m.:
motor vehicle accident, Holyoke Road, caller reports a hit and run accident, officer reports locating the motorist a short distance from the accident scene, officer reports this was a single-vehicle accident in which the motorcyclist lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down on the pavement, suffering road abrasions, officer requested an ambulance, motorcyclist transported to Noble Hospital for treatment;
1:04 p.m.: suspicious activity, Union Street, caller reports a vehicle parked in front of residence, officer reports locating the operator of the vehicle at a nearby medical facility, services rendered;
1:51 p.m.: fraud, Forest Glen Drive, citizen came to station to report that her credit card has been used in New York and in the Boston area, officer reports information taken and a report will be submitted to the citizen’s credit card company;
4:18 p.m.: suspicious activity, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Road, patrol officer reports a water line break, cemetery and Water Resource Department notified;
6:22 p.m.: fraud, Bailey Drive, citizen came to station to report that his checking account was accessed and used at businesses in Italy and Austria, information taken, report submitted to citizen’s bank;
11:06 p.m.: larceny, arrest, Ryan’s Package Store parking lot, caller reports the theft of a Kona Mountain Bicycle, valued at $2,500, officer reports viewing the security videotape and identifying the registration number of the vehicle involved in the theft, officer then went to the address listed in the Registry of Motor Vehicle data base and identified the person who was on the video taking the bicycle, Alexis Oquendo, 35, of 126 Union St., charged with larceny of property valued at more than $250.

12:06 a.m.:
motor vehicle violation, arrest, patrol sergeant observed a 2007 Nissan Altima being operated the wrong way on Chapel Street, a one-way street, and stopped the operator who was taken into custody, Kyle B. Toee, 30, of 112 Main St., charged with operating a motor vehicle after the suspension of his license;
12:42 a.m.: shoplifting, Walmart, 141 Springfield Road, store security reports a man and woman were shoplifting merchandise which was recovered, officer reports both subjects were served with trespass orders;
1:30 a.m.: vandalism of a motor vehicle, Powdermill Village, 126 Union St., caller reports her 2003 Toyota Corolla was damaged, officer reports two tires slashed;
6:11 a.m.: larceny, Colony Drive, caller reports that her mailbox and post were pulled out of the ground and are missing, officer reports information taken;
9:05 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, patrol officer observed a vehicle being operated with an expired safety equipment sticker and stopped vehicle, registration was also expired, vehicle towed from scene, officer reports finding marijuana in the vehicle, drug confiscated;
9:45 a.m.: motor vehicle theft, 48 Hundred Acres Road, citizen came to station to report theft of a 2002 snowmobile which was stored in a barn at the above address, a resident of Bayberry Lane reported at 2 p.m. that a black pick-up truck dumped a snowmobile in front of residence, officer confirmed it was the stolen vehicle, owner notified;
12:21 p.m.: tree down, Barbara Street, caller reports a tree fell and is blocking the roadway, officer reports Department of Public Works notified to remove the hazard;
3:04 p.m.: vandalism, Prospect Street, caller reported that a person dressed in jogging attire cut branches of the neighbor’s crab apple tree, officer reports speaking with the property owner who stated that the branches may have been sagging down and obstructing the sidewalk, jogger left trimmed branches in a neat pile on the treebelt;
5:52 p.m.: illegal dumping, Ponders Hollow Road near Tin Bridge, caller reports man dumping at that location, officer reports locating and identifying the subject who was collecting sand for his fish tank, no violation;
9:26 p.m.: larceny, Riverside Drive, citizen reports that a debit card was used in Dearborn, Michigan, officer reports information taken.

7:54 a.m.:
breaking and entering, 69 Franklin St., glass panel of a door was shattered to gain entrance to a variety store, officer reports attempting to contact person who has access to security video, no contact made, referred to the detective bureau for further investigation;
9:03 a.m.: vandalism, Lawton Lane, caller reports an arrow was shot into the side of her above-ground swimming pool which is now leaking, caller states she found another arrow earlier in the week but did not report that incident, caller reports damage to pool appears to have been intentional, officer reports information taken;
1:22 p.m.: medical emergency, Massachusetts Turnpike, westnound at 39.4 mile marker, person called Northampton State Police Headquarters on cellphone to report feeling faint, caller stated she had a dog in the vehicle with her, state police and ambulance 30 dispatched to assist caller, state tropper requesting Westfield dispatch an animal control officer to take custody of the dog, woman transported to Noble Hospital for treatment, ACO transported the dog to fire substation #3 where it was kept until the owner could take possession.
