12:23 a.m.: disturbance, a resident came to the station to report he was assaulted by his girlfriend, the responding officer reports the man said that an argument devolved into a physical altercation and he was assaulted, the woman said that the suspect admitted assaulting the man, Jasmine Kaempfer, 23, of 54 Riverside Drive, was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship;
9:54 a.m.: animal complaint, Meadow Street, a caller reports a large brown stray dog, the responding animal control officer reports the dog was transported to the municipal animal shelter;
10:22 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Meadow Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating without an inspection sticker and with the front registration plate on the dash, the vehicle was stopped and the officer reports the registration plates had been revoked for lack of insurance and had been issued to another vehicle, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:23 a.m.: assault, Southampton Road, a caller reports he was assaulted by a customer at the gas station and convenience store where he works, the responding officer reports the clerk showed him security video chronicling an incident with customers which did not clearly show who instigated the altercation, the officer was able to identify and speak with one of the customers, all parties were advised that any could seek a criminal complaint at the Westfield District Court at their discretion;
12:19 p.m.: fire, Old Farm Road, a caller reports smoke near her home, the responding officer reports the source of the smoke was identified and the responsible resident agreed to extinguish the fire;
7:43 p.m.: breaking and entering, Joseph Ave., a caller reports she came home to find a window open at her residence, the responding detectives report entry was made via a basement window and jewelry was stolen;
9:35 p.m.: vandalism, Coleman Avenue, a patrol officer reports he discovered graffiti on the rear wall of a business, the officer was unable to determine if the vandalism occurred recently.
