7:20 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and non-renewable, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:42 a.m.: motor vehicle complaint, a caller reports a vehicle parked in a private parking lot is not authorized to use it, the responding officer reports that the registration of the vehicle was found to have been revoked for lack of insurance and the plates were seized for return to the RMV, the caller was advised of tow options available;
2:00 p.m.: assault, Mechanic Street, a boy reports he was shot with a BB by another boy, see story in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
5:52 p.m.: violation of a protective order, Carroll Drive, a resident came to the station to complain that she has received a text message from the defendant of a protective order, a criminal complaint was filed;
6:52 p.m.: assist citizen, Frederick Street, a Chicopee resident came to the station to seek assistance gathering possession from the home of his former girlfriend, the responding officer reports the man gathered his belongings but ownership of a television was contested and the man was advised of his civil options;
6:39 p.m.: accident, Russell Road, multiple callers report an accident involving a motorcycle, see photo in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
9:33 p.m.: fire, Bates Road, a caller reports a bonfire in the area, the responding firefighters report the residents were advised of the pertinent city ordinances and extinguished their fire;
10:32 p.m.: trespassing, St. Paul Street, a patrol officer reports a vehicle was stopped in Chapman Playground, the operator was advised of the hours of operation of city parks and playgrounds;

12:32 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, South Maple Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and it was towed to the police impound yard;
1:36 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle enter the roadway from a licensed establishment at a high rate of speed and saw it swerve across the center line before he stopped it on Southampton Road, the officer report the operator appeared to be intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test, John M. Stebbins, 48, of 40 Franklin St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding in violation of special regulations and for a marked lanes violation;
11:23 a.m.: fire, Main Street, a caller reports a propane gas grill is burning within five feet of a building, fire Capt. Eric Bishop reports a tank for a gas grill was leaking and a resident was attempting to control the resulting fire with a hose, the firefighters shut the valve to stop the gas flow and extinguished the fire, the heat from fire was found to have scorched a soffit of the building which was removed to check for extensions but no fire was found, the tank continued to leak and was moved to an open air area, the residents were advised to leave it alone and keep flames away from it until the gas leeched out of the tank;
1:45 p.m.: larceny, City View Road, a resident reports via the on-line reporting option that potted plants were stolen;
2:02 p.m.: breaking and entering, Prospect Street Extension, a caller reports a larceny from his pickup truck, the responding officer the caller said that a chain saw valued at about $1,000 was stolen from a company pickup, other items were not disturbed;
2:20 p.m.: found property, Union Street, a resident came to the station to surrender a set of keys found on Union Street, the owner of the keys was identified but could not be immediately reached, the keys were held for safe keeping;
2:27 p.m.: burglary, Sally Ave., a caller reports someone entered his mother’s house and stole her purse, the responding officer reports the caller said that the purse was stolen sometime since the night before, no sign of entry was found but the purse was missing;
4:35 p.m.: assist citizen, Southampton Road, a caller reports he bought a cell phone through an on-line selling site and found it had been stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that he traded a video game system for the phone, the officer reports that the other party in the transaction returned the game system and the stolen phone was seized, the manufacturer was not helpful in an effort to determine he owner of the phone and it was held for safe keeping;
6:52 p.m.: disturbance, Hanover Street, a caller reports a fight, the responding officer reports that in a dispute over a game of horseshoes one man head-butted another and the victim’s nose may have been broken, the officer reports that the suspect acknowledged that he had struck the other man and apologized, neither of the parties wanted to pursue criminal charges but in light of the seriousness of the injury involved a criminal complaint for assault and battery was filed;
7:03 p.m.: unwanted guest, Oaks Trailer Park, 404 Southwick Road, a caller reports that a known person is intoxicated and creating a disturbance, the responding officer report the suspect was deemed to be too intoxicated to care for himself but nobody could be found to care for him, the man was placed in protective custody;
7:08 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, a caller reports a truck loaded with pallets stopped in the area of a trail to the railroad tracks and the caller is concerned that a bonfire is planned, the responding officer reports no pallets were found but the parked vehicle’s registration was found to have been revoked and the plates on it had been issued to another vehicle, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard and the plates were seized;
8:52 p.m.: assist citizen, Mechanic Street, a caller reports her child locked her keys inside her car, the responding fire captain reports entry was made;
10:00 p.m.: fireworks, Munger Hill School, 33 Mallard Lane, a caller reports a group of children are igniting fireworks, the responding officer reports the children fled upon his arrival but returned on his instruction, the children disposed of their fireworks in the schools refuse bin and were advised of the pertinent laws, five youths were identified and released;
11:50 p.m.: noise complaint, Woronoco Avenue, a caller reports large party is disturbing her peace, the responding officer reports that he observed there persons dump beer and walk toward the residence when he arrived and one fled when told to stop, the man was detained and city ordinance violation was issued, the resident was advised of the noise complaint and the possible consequences of an additional response for the same complaint.
