10:16 a.m.:
arrest, Jeremy G. Higgins, 29, of 291 North Elm St., charged with breaking and entering a building in the nighttime to commit a felony and larceny from a building, see separate report and photograph;
12:32 p.m.: breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny, 103 North Elm Street, see separate Higgins report and photograph;
1:01 p.m.: assist other police department, arrest, Chicopee Police requesting assistance in locating a subject involved in an incident in which he struck and person with a baseball bat, officer reports Gabriel Seda, 37, of 134 Union Street located and transported to police headquarters, Chicopee Police Department notified and dispatched officers who took Seda into custody on a charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon;
1:54 p.m.: breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny, 14 Clifton St., a former employee who was storing a vehicle with permission of business owner was advised to remove vehicle, former employee reports that he went to recover the vehicle and discovered that $4,000 of tools stored in the vehicle were missing, case referred to the Detective Bureau for further investigation;
3:22 p.m.: larceny, Danek Drive, caller reports that property was left on the curb, officer reports that property appeared to be abandoned and was taken;
3:41 p.m.: breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny, Caitlin Way, caller reports vehicle entered and a tablet and loose change taken, officer reports vehicle was left unsecured, under investigation;
4:42 p.m.: larceny, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, 437 East Main St., patron reports leaving a tablet on a table and leaving, when patron returned the property was missing, restaurant is searching security tapes to determine if theft of tablet was recorded, referred to detective bureau;
6:05 p.m.: larceny, Walmart, 141 Springfield Road, loss prevention reports two subjects left store with two computers valued at more than $1,000, investigation referred to detective bureau;
6:29 p.m.: larceny, Ocean State Job Lot, 231 East Main Street, citizen called to report leaving a cellphone, person who located cellphone took it to the Westhampton Police Department where it was turned over to State Trooper who brought the property back to the Westfield Police Department, officer attempting to contact owner to recover cellphone;
7:45 p.m.: larceny, Walmart, 141 Springfield Road, caller reports leaving cellphone behind, store security provided a description of suspects and the vehicle in which they left, suspect located and admitted to taking the cellphone which was recovered and returned to owner.
