6:35 a.m.: fire, Western Massachusetts Hospital, 91 East Mountain Road, an automatic alarm was received from the hospital, dual response dispatched, three fire engines, the platform truck, an ambulance and a command vehicle went to the hospital, the responding deputy fire chief reports that an elevator electrical panel fire was extinguished by hospital personnel and the fire units were released at 7:07 a.m.;
7:29 a.m.: found property, Kasper Drive, a caller reports a wallet was found but she has no way to get it to the police station, the responding officer report the woman said that the wallet was found in a parking lot, the owner could not be immediately contacted, the wallet was transported to the station for safe keeping;
8:58 a.m.: assist citizen, Southwood Acres, 342 Southwick Road, a caller reports her keys are locked inside her car with her infant son, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
9:29 a.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a caller reports two customers are shoplifting baby formula, see story in the Friday edition of The Westfield News;
10:21 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, a traffic enforcement officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and used radar to determine that it was traveling at 51 mph in a 40 mph zone, the vehicle was stopped and the operator said that his license had been suspended, Jason D. Coons, 34, of 92 Johnson St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (a subsequent offense), a criminal complaint was filed against the owner of the vehicle for permitting unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle;
1:43 p.m.: assist other agency, Noble Hospital, 115 W. Silver St., an officer was detailed to execute a warrant of apprehension issued by Westfield District Court, the responding officer reports the subject of the order was transported to the court;
7:44 p.m: assault, Hubbard Street, a resident came to the station to report that she was assaulted by her adult son, the responding officer reports that the victim said that during an argument her son pushed her causing her to fall and suffer minor injuries, the woman did not want to pursue criminal charges but wants the man removed from her home, the officer found that the man was the subject of an outstanding warrant but had left the residence and could not be found;
8:36 p.m.: breaking and entering, Mill at Crane Pond, 77 Mill St., a caller reports that his storage unit was entered and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that he suspects a man he had hired to do some work in the storage unit stole the power tools which are missing, the officer spoke with another party who said that he had helped the suspect remove the tools after being told they had been discarded, the case was referred to the detective bureau.
