9:35 a.m.: vandalism, Union Avenue, a caller reports his building was spray painted, the responding officer reports the building was tagged with graffiti;
10:26 a.m.: larceny, Kellogg Street, a resident came to the station to complain of larceny of lawn equipment from his garage, the responding officer reports there were no signs of forcible entry to the locked garage, the complainant suggested his tenant might be responsible;
10:27 a.m.: animal complaint, Morningside Drive, an animal control officer reports she responded to a possible incident of rabies exposure and transported a bat to the animal shelter;
11:00 a.m.: vandalism, Franklin Street, a representative of a Franklin Street liquor store came to to the station to complain of vandalism to a case of wine, the responding officer reports the complainant said that an intoxicated 19-year-old youth was denied service and swept a display of bottles off a table, the officer reports he spoke with the suspect who agreed to make restitution;
1:56 p.m.: identity fraud, Birch Bluffs Drive, a resident came to the station to complain of a fraudulent attempt to open a bank account in his name, the responding officer reports a report was filed;
2:25 p.m.: animal complaint, Springdale Road, an animal control officer reports she took custody of a stray cat and transported it the municipal animal shelter;
4:52 p.m.: fraud, Notre Dame Street, a resident came to the state to complain of misuse of a credit account, the responding officer reports the complaint said that she learned of charges to her account which were made in Georgia, the woman said she has never visited Georgia, a report was filed;
8:02 p.m.: suspicious activity, Union Street, a caller report a person previously served with a ‘No Trespassing’ order may have entered the basement of the address in question, the responding officer reports the suspect was found on Orange Street and found to be the subject of a warrant issued in 2017 by the Westfield District Court, John Steven Decker, 25, of 26 Union St., was arrested on the warrant.
