8:10 a.m.: accident, Orange Street, a detective reports a truck struck a railroad overpass, the responding officer reports the top of the truck filled with insulation was taken off by the overpass, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
11:32 a.m.: larceny, Mechanic Street, an East Sandwich resident came to the station to complain that his parked vehicle was broken into and his wallet was stolen, the responding officer reports there were no signs of forcible entry;
12:26 p.m.: assist other agency, Russell Road, officers were detailed to assist probation department personnel take into custody the subject of an outstanding warrant, the subject was found at a Russell Road motel, Brian R. Gunn, 40, of 2 Hickory Lane, Southwick, was arrested on the warrant issued in 2016 by Westfield District Court;
2:42 p.m.: fire, Westfield Shops, East Main Street, a caller reports mulch in a traffic island at the shopping center is burning, the responding firefighters report the island was soaked and the fire was extinguished;
3:17 p.m.: fire, Westfield Shops, East Main Street, a caller reports mulch in a traffic island at the shopping center is burning, the responding firefighters report the mulch in an island different that the previous incident was burning, the second island was also soaked and the fire was extinguished;
3:22 p.m.: identity fraud, Briarwood Place, a resident came to the station to complain that credit accounts have been opened in his name, the responding officer reports a report was filed;
6:49 p.m.: unwanted guest, Powdermill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports a neighbor advised her that someone was attempting to enter her apartment via a window, the responding officer reports two persons were found who said that the resident had allowed them to stay at her apartment but when there returned they found their possessions on the porch and the door locked, the man was sent on his way and the woman was found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant issued by Springfield District Court, Tara L. Barber, 41, of 668 Main St., Apt. 2, West Springfield, was arrested on the warrant;
7:02 p.m.: identity fraud, Willow Brook Lane, a resident came to the station to complain that a credit card account was opened in his name, the responding officer reports a report was filed.
