3:08 a.m.: found property, Russell Road, a caller from a Russell Road convenience store requests an officer to take custody of a bag found on a picnic table outside the store which contains clothing, jewelry and watches, the responding officer reports no reports of stolen property matching the description of the found items has been filed, the property was stored for safe keeping;
9:39 a.m.: breaking and entering, Oakdale Avenue, a resident came to the station to report that his car was broken into overnight, the responding officer reports the man said that the car had been locked, there was no indication how the car was entered but wallets were stolen and attempts to use a credit card from one of the wallets in California were denied;
10:44 a.m.: accident Western Avenue at Westwood Drive, a caller reports a vehicle struck a utility pole, the operator called and said that she struck her head in the crash, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports the operator was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard, the G&E was advised to examine the struck pole;
10:50 a.m.: accident, Union Street at Springfield Road a caller reports his dump truck slid off the road and struck a guard rail near the railroad trestle, the operator said that he struck his knee and elbow in the crash and he was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital, a heavy duty tow truck and a second tow truck were called upon to remove the dump truck to the police impound yard;
4:12 p.m.: breaking and entering, Whitaker Road, a caller reports she chased away two men who broke into her home, the responding officer reports the woman said that she ignored the men when they came to her front door but then they went to the back and broke into her kitchen door, the 93-year-old resident said the men fled when she yelled at them and she provided the registration number of the vehicle they left in, see story in the Sept. 13 edition of The Westfield News;
6:19 p.m.: breaking and entering, Sunset Drive, a caller reports she returned home to find her front door and been broken open and property had been stolen, the responding officer report the victim said that jewelry and other property was stolen, see story in the Sept. 13 edition of The Westfield News;
9:32 p.m.: robbery, Southwick Road, a caller reports his convenience store was robbed minutes earlier by a man with a gun, the responding officer reports that the caller said that a masked man with a gun stole a considerable amount of cash, see story in the Sept. 13 edition of The Westfield News.
