3:09 a.m.: vandalism, Elm Street, a caller from a gas station and convenience store reports that a person who appeared to be intoxicated came in to use the bathroom and damaged it, the responding officer reports that the clerk said that the man told him as he was leaving that there had been a “malfunction”, the clerk said when he investigated he found that the sink had been broken away from its supports and thrown to the floor, a search of the area did not reveal the vehicle the man was reported to have left in;
2:49 p.m.: fraud, North Road, a resident came to the station to report that he received a call from a person who said that his son was in Westfield District Court and needed bail money, the man said that he was instructed to get two money cards for the amount of $1,000 and give the redemption numbers to the caller, the man said that he complied with the instructions, the responding officer reports the incident was referred to the financial crimes unit of the detective bureau;
10:04 p.m.: assist resident, Noble Hospital, a caller from the emergency department requested a courtesy transport for a 94-year-old patient returning to his assisted living facility after treatment, the responding officer reports that the man was transported to his residence where he was met by staff members;
10:38 p.m.: incapacitated person, Tin Bridge, Ponders Hollow Road, a caller reports an intoxicated person is in the area of the Tin Bridge, the responding officer reports that the man was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was placed in protective custody.
