3:11 a.m.: recovered motor vehicle, Whitney Playground, Shepard Street, a patrol officer reports he checked a car parked under the Great River Bridge and found it to have been reported stolen, the vehicle was found to be intact and undamaged, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
8:14 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Big Wood Drive, a caller reports a large pontoon boat is on blocks in the roadway of the cul-de-sac, the responding code enforcement officer reports he issued a parking ticket for the boat;
9:08 a.m.: assist other agency, Westfield Middle School South, 30 W. Silver St., a code enforcement officer reports he assisted the city clerk’s office by marking the legal distance (150 feet) from the polling place for campaign workers, the officer reports that while he was there he reminded all campaign workers that they must physically hold their signs and may not leave them posted in the ground or leaning against anything, the office reports that similar services were performed at polling places at Highland School, Juniper Park School, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, Westfield High School, Southampton Road School and Munger Hill School;
9:15 a.m.: vandalism, Hampton Ponds Association building, 39 Old Stage Road, a caller reports vandalism to the property on Sunday, the responding officer reports that the caller said that the board of directors had met and voted to report as vandalism damage which occurred while the hall was being used for a social function, the caller said that glass was broken and a security camera was damaged;
9:32 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Highland School, Western Avenue, a code enforcement officer reports that while marking the legal distance from the polling place for campaign workers he observed an unattended campaign sign, the officer reports other sign holders said that the person who had been holding the sign had left, the sign was removed;
9:37 a.m.: animal complaint, Westwood Drive, the animal control officer reports she was advised of a sick skunk, the ACO reports that she dispatched the skunk and transported the carcass to the Twiss Street transfer station;
10:19 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Western Avenue, a code enforcement officer reports he observed a campaign sign illegally posted on the city tree belt, the officer reports that the sign was moved to the adjacent private property;
11:53 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Forest Avenue, a code enforcement officer reports he addressed a complaint of an unregistered vehicle and a vehicle offered for sale, the officer reports the owner was advised of the relevant laws;
12:11 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Southampton Road, a code enforcement officer reports he observed and removed an illegally posted campaign sign;
1:42 p.m.: vandalism, Southampton Road, a caller from a Southampton Road business reports an outdoor display was damaged, the responding officer reports the caller does not require a formal report for the minimal damage done but recognized two school-aged suspects and wants the incident documented;
2:24 p.m.: suspicious person, Lockhouse Road, a caller reports for the past few weeks a prowler has been believed to be lurking in the rear of the property and investigating the decks behind the apartment, the responding officer reports the caller said that nobody has been seen but a tool was discovered to have been left on his deck;
3:05 p.m.: incapacitated person, Forth Meadow School, 35 White St., a caller reports an intoxicated parent is picking up a pupil, the responding officer reports that the woman acknowledged she was intoxicated, the officer reports that the child will be staying with a neighbor until the father comes home;
5:30 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Russell Road, a patrol officer reports he was advised that a vehicle with registration revoked for lack of insurance was parked in a Russell Road parking lot, the officer reports the vehicle was found and the plates were seized, the owner of the parking lot was advised of the vehicle and provided with a private tow request form;
6:45 p.m.: assist other agency, Noble Hospital, Court Street, a caller from the hospital requests a courtesy transport for a discharged patient, the responding officer reports that the patient was provided a courtesy transport to the West Springfield line where a West Side officer assisted the woman to her home in that city.
