12:30 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports he observed the operator of a moped weaving in and out of traffic on Springfield Road, the vehicle was stopped and the operator said that he did not have his license with him, a routine check revealed that the operator’s license had been suspended, Rene R. Garcia, 23, of 41 Johnson St., Springfield, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle without a license in his possession and for a moped violation;
7:30 a.m.: assist citizen, Southampton Road, a caller from a Southampton Road automotive repair facility requests an officer’s presence to keep the peace as two employees are terminated, the responding officers reports the employees received the news without incident;
9:51 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a Traffic Bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and it was towed to the police impound yard;
10:24 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a Traffic Bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and a tow was summoned, the officer reports the owner renewed her registration via her smartphone and paid the tow truck operator;
1:07 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a Traffic Bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and non-renewable, the pickup truck was towed to the police impound yard;
1:34 p.m.: vandalism, Southampton Road, a caller from a pizzeria reports the front window was broken, the responding officer reports a window and a glass door each had cracks after they were apparently struck by rocks, the glass did not fall;
2:17 p.m.: vandalism, Elm Street, a caller reports electrical meters were vandalized, the responding officer reports he found that electrical boxes had been damaged;
3:47 p.m.: identity fraud, Avery Street, a resident came to the station to report that her identity may have been stolen in an online tax return filing, the officer reports that the complainant does not expect additional investigation but said that she needs documentation for the IRS investigation;
8:48 p.m.: officer wanted, Fritz Avenue, a resident came to the station to complain that her computer had been hacked, the responding officer reports that the complainant said that she received a call from a person who told her that her computer had been infected by a virus and she paid $100 for virus protection, the woman said that she subsequently had to take her computer to a retailer to have the virus protection program removed, she also said that she later received repeated calls from the person who had sold her the virus protection, the man told her that he had removed pictures from her computer and was willing to sell them back to her, the woman declined to do business with the man.
