1:10 a.m.: Assault, Arnold Street. Police received a call from a witness who reported an assault that happened in a parking lot on Arnold Street. Police additionally were told that at least one witness recorded the incident, which police were told had happened 10 minutes prior to the call to police. Police reported that the assault occurred when a male was reportedly fighting a female and a male walking his dog had interceded on the female’s behalf. The other male party proceeded to punch the man with the dog. Police reported that the assailant and the victim had left the scene. No arrests were made at the time of the report.
7:08 a.m.: Threat to commit crime, walk-in. Police received a walk-in report of a threat made over Facebook between neighbors. According to police, the threat was related to damage being done to someone’s home and was caused over a dispute regarding placement of trash bins, per police.
8:31 a.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, Elm Street. Police were on Elm Street when they reportedly witnessed a car with an expired inspection sticker. The vehicle, operated by Chad Brian Sullivan, 36, of Westfield, was stopped and upon running Sullivan’s license police found that he also had both a suspended license and registration. Police arrested Sullivan and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, no inspection/sticker and operation of motor vehicle with a registration suspended.
